Buck, Why is it in question? everybody supports a welfare program, thats why we have one. I love gravy and some day if you work hard you will get some gravy. Yum YUM gravy.

We already have safety nets... Family, community, job-related, etc. They are there regardless...

No, I dont think the government should help individuals in need.

I support a safety net as long as it's just that and not a way of life for some work shy sponging fucker that doesn't want to work for a living

I support a safety net not tied to the government. We have charities that provide for the needy, let them do their thing.

If things radically changed with the way government operated then a local safety net might be a good idea.
