Do you think people should be protected from punishment from their employer for expressing opinions

What kind of person would go out of their way to search for racist/hateful/offensive comments made on social media, then contact their place of business to tattle on them to their employer in the hopes of some kind of reprimand?

i once started a fake john boehner account on FB and gained thousands of followers. one of his congressional aides spent weeks getting it deleted.

That's way past 'trolling', man. People troll online to piss people off and stir up a reaction. I'm curious why you can't just leave it at that, why do you feel like you need to take it further, offline, into people's real, personal lives? I'm sure you can see how that might be potentially dangerous, right? Similar to how many people are doxed and receive death threats. To be clear, I'm not condoning anything any of these people or any of the people you've doxed have said, I just think it's crossing a moral boundary to try to actually harm people you've never actually met for saying something you personally disagree with.

That's hilarious and didn't harm anyone. Troll more like that

if they receive death threats and get fired because of what they publicly said online, that's on them.

make racists afraid again.

Forget about them, this is about you

bootstraps, welfare, i don't fucking care. let them both starve and die.
But their child would have no role in their behavior, how can you condemn an innocent victim?

How would you be any different from a conservative condemning a person who is on welfare caring for a child?

But what if they have a child to support? They lose their job because of you, how will they support their kid?
They should have thought about that before they said things that can get them fired. It's pretty easy to just keep your mouth shut and not say racist shit online, if they can't figure that out then they are too stupid to be raising children anyways.

these are the same people who want to deport kids who were brought here illegally by their parents, let them have a taste of their own medicine.
They believe it's OK to harm kids because of their parents actions, you believe it's OK to harm kids because of their parents actions

Show me the difference

So you have no problem actively harming an innocent person because of something someone else said?

What do you think of the US drone program? Where 97% are innocent victims who happened to be associated in some way with known terrorists? Is it OK to murder them because they knew someone who said something fucked up?

i believe in giving them the world they want.
They believe in giving you the world you want

So again, how are you any different?

Do you see it yet? You're the same deplorable people, just with opposing beliefs. Harming those that have harmed you is more important than making the world a better place. And this is the constant distraction that engulfs our political sphere. Not what actually matters, not policy.

What does that have to do with getting fired for saying racist things? If you don't want to be fired for saying racist things, don't say racist things. If you don't want anyone to be fired for saying racist things, complain to the employers who fire them, not the people who exposed the things they said. People have no obligation to remain silent about things they find offensive, if you don't like the consequences of that fact, complain to the people who are implementing the consequences.

That's like saying that discriminating against Nazis is the same thing as the Nazis discriminating against Jews because both involve discrimination. False equivalencies, because the reason for the behavior is important.

That's not what I'm asking you. You keep trying to deflect from the question that is being asked.

If you can follow along: How are you any different from the conservatives you condemn for the exact same thing you yourself are condemning now; harming innocent victims?

You gave the example of immigration;
these are the same people who want to deport kids who were brought here illegally by their parents, let them have a taste of their own medicine.
That harms innocent victims. How can you say you're against harming innocent victims in one post, then say "eh, fuck em" in the next just because their parents might believe something different?

Can you tie that together for me?
