Do you think this would be a good growing medium?

It doesnt post any N-P-K values, so you don't really know what ferts are in it. I would try to find something else, Fox Farms Ocean Forest if you can find it.

It doesnt have any fertz as far as I can tell, I would have to add my own but I have no idea if this medium would even be condusive for doing so, so I thought maybe if anyone had particular experience with this or similar product & its contents, they could chime in. Thanks for your input though.

That's probably why I cant find the values, there arent any ferts in it! Hehe.

I would give it a try then, and try slowly adding your own nutes after about two weeks from germination.

right, lol. I am going to get some tomorrow & see what I think, & either use it straight or combine it with some mix.

I don't know what "Phalaenopsis" are (appearantly some sort of Orchid), but the bottom line is - you're talking about spending $3. a gallon for "un-nuted" potting mix!

FoxFarm Ocean Forest is some of best (and most expensive) shit out there - and it doesn't cost anywhere near that much. And, by the way, 8 quarts will barely be enough to get you started!

Save yourself a ton of money and mix-up your own soil. Here is an easy recipe for beginners; all ingredients should be store bought, in bags, and are available just about everywhere:
Four-way Mix
1 equal part Compost
1 equal part Top Soil
1 equal part Perlite (and/or Vermiculite)
1 equal part "Composted Steer Manure"

Store bought "TopSoil" IS NOT the same same stuff you dig out of your back yard!

No, Phal's are not MJ, I used to grow them.

Get something that the plants will thrive in and Phal mix is not it.
