Drink Tap Water
Most bottled water isn't just expensive and bad for the environment. It also typically doesn't contain fluoride, which can help prevent tooth decay

everyone drink your fluoridated waster supply! its good for you i swear

you know, The nazi's fluoridated the water supply too, only they openly admitted it was to poison the people, and was known to cause brain damage

but some how now its good for you!

....according to who exactly? I don't buy that -- no offense to your point of view, but doctors and dentists etc have been prescribing antibiotics, and medications/chemicals for years, which is why most of the terrible viruses that are making people sick, are now immune to the antibiotics. Super-bugs, as they're called, are a product of health care personel over-prescribing medications and what have you....

bottom line, I like filtered water and I certainly am not ingesting any more chemicals then what I already am exposed to. :S

anyways.... have a good day :)

I'm saying until I review the article, and inform myself based on knowledge and facts, I not be able to really give you an answer.... however I'm not against fluoride in general, at this point, I just don't want to drink it on a daily basis b/cuz I can't believe that it won't have an effect in the long term that perhaps no one knows of right now.... but as I said, until I look into it or myself, I can't really judge it.

While its true that Fluoride, if ingested in large quantities is a poison, in very small quantities it hardens tooth enamel and reduces tooth decay in children by as much as 65% and is not harmful. After the age of twelve, fluoride is no longer effective in reducing tooth decay.

Brushing and flossing doesn't harden tooth enamel ... fluoride does.
Never said it did-- although good oral hygiene can prevent tooth decay, which in turn means the softening of tooth enamel. therefore vicariously, it actually sortof does... ha there, now I've said it...

Flouride is a toxic chemical that is a byproduct from the aluminum and steel industry that is very expensive to dispose of. It is a toxic chemical in which the Environmental Protection Agency concludes is useless and the FDA classifies as a prescription drug.

Since it has been known to prevent cavities someone decided it would be a good idea to push the govt to add it in the water supply as a way to not only avoid the cost of disposing it but to also to get paid for something that was previously a liability.

Just plain water is toxic and can cause death if injested in large enough quanities. Does this mean that we should stop drinking water? bongsmilie

http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm

The article doesn't state that water is toxic... it says that if you drink too much water, it rids the sodium from your body.
-- which does, cause death because
"Sodium is important for essential processes within the body, including circulation, digestion, metabolism and nerve impulses."

besides, anything in large enough quantities can kill you-- even oxygen-- does that mean you're going to stop breathing? lol

jk.

i've heard all the theories about water fluoridation...that the nazi's used it to calm the jews in concentration camps (true)...and that it's a byproduct of the aluminum/steel industry (true) and that these corporations cut deals with federal agencies to allow certain quantities to be disposed of in municiple water supplies (also true). I'm sure they hired all the biased scientists they could find to twist facts for them.

all I can really speak about is my own antedotal evidence here:

I used commercial toothpaste for years and started developing cavities in my mid-late teens despite consistent brushing habits

So I switched to an all-natural, non-fluoride toothpaste (Jason's Organics brand) and have not had ONE cavity since. My teeth/mouth feel MUCH cleaner after every brush and I only use a pea-size amount on my toothbrush

Personally, I'll never use fluoride toothpaste again...and I'm fortunate to be able to drink my own fresh, pure well water

LOL! Fluorride is a naturally occuring substance. Many foods have naturally occuring fluoride in them, as does the ocean and pretty much all the water on earth.

That fresh, pure wellwater has fluoride in it, since it occurs naturally in ALL water sources on earth.
