Does a DWC benefit from having a bigger amount of medium + a dripper?

Some of you might have seen this before:

Modifying the Waterfarm by GHE, so it becomes a drip/DWC system. People are claiming insane growth etc.. But that's the DWC part right? The dripper part is just convenient so you don't have to water the first week'ish, right?

I'm going to get one system, not sure if I should go full DWC so the roots hit the water as soon as possible, without having to run through too much medium, or go Waterfarm.

Thoughts?

I did, I was answering the part where you asked about the feeder, its an RDWC system not a DWC system. I leave my feeder on from start to finish but you can turn it off once the roots hit the bucket.
That wasn't the question :P But thanks for the feedback regardless!

other than helping the plant be more stable in the netpot, more medium doesn't do anything.

the dripper will help small plants get established but once the roots are in the res all the time, it doens't do much other than adding a small waterfall effect

As far as cost goes,a waterfarm set up is a bit more money. I have used both types. .The driipper adds nothing except to moisten the roots until they reach water. If your looking to increase yeild. added a res to either and circulating the nutes will do that and is simple to set up.

Can you link me an example of that? Like a DWC with res? Just want to see if we're thinking about the same thing

The smaller net pots tip over when the plants get bigger.. more medium more stability..

That net pot has more support than my DIY system had.. Looks like a decent system to me...
Dwc is effective and fun..
