Hey everybody, I'm looking for a grow tent...well a couple actually, one round 5x5x6 for flowering and a smaller 2x2x5 for mothers, whada thing these go for price wise in CAN$

Can anybody recommend a good place around Durham Ontario or somewhere that is safe to order from online, with the lowest cost, or even go into a store?

Also I'm looking for a MH HPS ballast, fan, filter, hood combo in the 400watt range and am wondering where i can get one and what I should expect to pay for this. Ive searched for them but most are from the states or UK and shipping and duty is killer.

Thanks Much All and Happy Smokin!

if you don't mind me asking who did you get it off of on ebay? All the ones I've found charge crazy shipping charges, and is it a Jardin or growlab by any chance? Thanks for the reply!!

awesome thanks guys, Ive heard the same thing about the PVC grow tents, by many, so I don't think it BS, just early untested and cheap introductory versions of grow tents! The only reason I wanna tent is for easy breakdown (landlord issues) if need and for the pre cut ventilation ports, just seems easier than going the walmart route. I have found a couple places that are decent in price and ship to canada, as I find out how good these guys are i will post a new thread about where to get them in canada. I also found another dude on Kijiji that sells outa TO so im gunna check that our too, you can contact him here "[email protected]". Another place that has the good tents is "http://www.buy-the-homebox.com/shop/" (growlab) From what I can tell the three leading brands are Growlab, Secret Jardin and Silver Sun Hut. In that order. Best luck to all and I'll keep you all posted!!

thelashop.com got me 1 4x4x72 for 124$
Yupyup.. 76"x76"x76" fro 180 ish shipped to me in a week from thelashop.com .. I use a 1000watt so I made a metal frame from tube square tube metal to support the wieght...If your tent is under 200 you better bet on riggin a support for anything over a 1 600watt hood.. There a pic below of the support it came with, Its that half as thick as a pencil rod with the lil fan on it.... L8

go to hydroasis.com and get one shipped. if you go to Ebay you may end up with one of those bad Tents. a bunch of bad tents are being pushed on ebay and they will kill plants.

Get a silver Edition. they are awesome i have one and it rocks.

DON'T DO WHAT I DID...

I'm in the same boat as you...trying to get a tent in Canada...in particular a Sun Hut Silver 2x4...placed an order with BESTGROWLIGHTS.COM for the tent (which was listed as in stock) on May 26th and it's now June 24th and they've still shipped nothing and have only been very slow to give excusses about why they haven't shipped...had to start a dispute with PayPal and now I'm still stuck looking for a tent and will probably never get my money back from these people...

I just built my own. After ALOT of research I found it was much cheaper and easier to build my own. Even if you order one online, you'll still have to assemble it.
First off, All that talk of gas being let off and killing your plants is bullshit. PVC piping is used in all kinds of applications, including suppling fresh water to homes. I guess there could be extreme situations where PVC (polyvinyl chloride) could release gases or other forms of chemicals, but we're talking about a horticulture tent, nothing too extreme here.
I used about 100' of PVC tubing, 8 - 90 degree fittings, and 16-20 T-fittings(depending on how much vertical support you want/need)
I just built a simple box frame and then wrapped it in panda film. (Black outside white inside) If you can't find panda plastic, I've also used 6 mil painters plastic and emergency blankets for reflective material on the inside.
The dimensions of my flowering tent are 6' wide X 4' deep X 7' tall.

I also have been looking into the guy out of Stoney creek on Ebay as well but am hesitent about pulling the trigger. Sure they're about half the price of one in the store but I think theo nes in hydro stores are better overall quality, from what I've seen. The one's at my local hydro shop use thick outer material the ones from ebay look very thin.

From one of the pictures showing the top I can see daylight right through the tent itself. This is unacceptable to me. I want to buy a tent to save me time and work. I don't see the point in buying a cheaper tent just so I can spend mextra money on straps, flanges and some sort of curtains to drape over the whole tent to make it light proof.

Buying the cheap ones just seems like more troubele then it's worth. Might be better to buy the good one right away and not have to worry about anything. Piece of mind, you know?
