Does anyone know when grow season starts in Canada this year?

I've been lurking through the forums, the FAQ and such but havent been able to find information on when to start growing outdoors in Canada, specifically the southern Ontario region.

Hopefully this is a simple question and I thank you in advance.

Toronto. I tried the flash I found on the forum that calculates the amount of sunlight in different parts of the world at different times, but I want to be sure and not plant based on an estimation but rather with some anecdotal evidence to back it up.

Alright! I stumbled upon the Weather Network website which gives detailed short and long term weather forecasts and has its own separate gardening section, detailing the best days to garden and all other pertinent information. I plan on starting a mid-sized outdoor stealth grow in a location I have been pontificating over for months. I will acquire some Summertime Buddha (80% Sativa, 20% Indica) from the Toronto420 seedbank and with the help of Jorge Cervantes will be up and running in about 2 weeks. I look forward to posting the process in the meantime!

Growing in central Ontario? smart gardeners dont plant until the May holiday weekend.. (around the 18th this year i believe) so thats when you should be thinking to leave plants outside for good..

many others will plant/garden when the weather gets warm (start of may).. not thinking about frosts.. which can occur into June (rare and very deadly)

my grandfather (a farmer) said that there is never a frost after the full moon in June (which is the 20th of June this year.. so obviously there wont be a frost after it lol)

to sum it up, you can leave plants outside anywhere after the middle-late may with little worry of frost damage and after the 1st of June, almost no worry of frost damage (i live/grow about 2hrs west of Toronto and these guidlines have never led me wrong) :peace:

** that doesnt mean that you cant start those babies indoors to give a little boost!!

yeah I'm doing this outdoor grow for a summer hobby to keep me busy. Im still gathering equipment for my eventual indoor grow. All I need now is the key pieces: lights, humidifier, dehumidifier, air purifier, etc. I look forward to many more threads and plants in the coming year!

Nice, not bad. I ordered from Toronto420 Seedbank and I ordered from there to reduce the amount of time to ship being as I live in the surrounding area. As for the reputation of the seed exchange, there are plenty of happy customers I know that they have quality product (although not the best selection compared to some American seed co.)

if you click on the link in my last post it says toronto's last frost is today may 9... but give it a week or so after to make sure imo
