DOES ANYONE REALLY KNOW HOW OFTEN TO WATER IN THE EBB FLOW BUCKET SYSTEM?

I HAVE HEARD AND SEEN MULTIPLE ANSWERS.. Ranging from every 2 hrs, to 4 times a day, to 6 times a day..

Does anyone actually know how often to water the babies?!

Working with WHITE WIDOW, SUPER ICE, and BUBBLICIOUS!!

one love!~

Can say exactly but i will say this, large plants use more water then small plants, but there are many more variables then size that dictate a plants water consumption. The age of the plant, container size, grow medium, temperature, humidity, and ventilation all contribute to water needs. Change any one of these variables, and the water consumption will change. Good ventilation is essential to promote a free flow of fluids, transpiration, and rapid growth. The healthier a plant, the faster it grows and the more water it needs.

that's the best answer I have heard in a long time.the plant will tell you what they want and you have to listen to them.PEACE

Estimate time?

Working with hydroton, in rockwool cubes..

Is Every 2 hrs too often? There youngins..
Yeah i think that's too often. Once or twice a day is good for young plants, depends on the plant size and the size of the rockwool cubes your using, ect. Rockwool holds a lot of water, hydroton doesn't.

I agree, you have to listen and talk to your plants, observe and check levels daily. :peace:

Plants will vary on size room temps humidity and expirence. In fllod and drain table with 4 inch rockwool cubes I myself and everyone I know who uses it does 4 floods aday which is like 10-15 minute floods evenly spaced out 4 times in a 24 hour period.Good luck

Its seems like little but remember how your rockwool hold lots of moister!!!!! So does the hydroton but its just doesnt hold near as much. Watch your babys, check on them on reg. basis. Depending on the variables in ur room you may need to water anywhere from 1-3 times a day if the rockwool becomes dried out. And when i say dried out thats wut i mean. if ur not careful you'll cook em. I hand water in my hydrotent for the first few days. During these day i will water and then check often to see when i should water again. If a good while goes by and the rockwool begins to dry out you'll kn o u need to water agin. I only need to water once a day for right now.

like everyone is saying..its all varibles..heat size medium...listin to the plants...it sounds like we talkin out of our ass when this is said..but your plants will let you know..another way though is to get a mostiure meter an after every water test it an see how long it lasts..defferent stages will requrie more or less water....peace

with the medium your using you cannot over water, it won' t hold any more water then it holds and gravity will drain the excess. If you are underwatering, which is possible with hydrotron, probably not in combination with the rockwool, you will get droppping plants. They will "tell you" if they are not getting enough.
When you harvest you will see. There will be water in the medium. VV

I agree with Ganga... I am using 4x4 square pots with a soiless hydro mix.... for the first two weeks or so I hand water according to how the mix feels... I think this time around, I watered every other day for about a week and a half, and now at 2 and a half weeks, I am flooding the tray once a day for about two minutes. Seems to work fine. But right on about just watching for their needs....

Im growing ICE and i water 3 or 4 times a day for 15min. If the leaves start drooping then it is over watered. I pay attention to how perky the leaves are and adjust from there..

H20 pumps the plant up HYDRAULICLY.
WHEN THE LEAVES LOOSE THEIR WATER THEY HANG LIKE A LIMP CLOTH WHEN THEY ARE WATERED THEY WILL BOUNCE RIGHT BACK UP.
I DONT WATER UNTILL THE DROOP OR HANG DOWN, BUT ASS THEY SAY YOU CANT OVER WATER WITH WOOL.
