Does clones internode spacing affect overall height and stretch of the plant?

I've got some stretchy girls that I grew too close together and started competing for the light and the nodes are quite far apart. Does that mean the clones are going to stretch or if they have more space the internodal spacing will condense over time?

Some strains, mainly sativas, naturally have wide intermodal spacing and tend to stretch a lot in flower. In a situation where they stretch due a light being to far away or other environmental related cause, given environmental needs are met, the amount of stretch in flower is related to genetics not how far they stretched in veg.

They wont "condense" over time. They will stop that stretching. When plants are young use additional blue light such as a you can find in a CFL grow light (BLUE spectrum) and this will help to break the apical dominance and result in shorter stockier plants. just get those CFL's very close to the plant without overheating the leaf, fans help.
