Does Critical Mass respond well to topping?

I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with topping critical mass. I've read that certain strains don't respond well to topping.

I currently have 1 critical mass (clone from local med co-op). I used the standard pinch method for topping to try to keep it smaller, as it was shooting up faster than any other strain. It took to topping very well, but still grew crazy tall. My other strains are around 4` tall - the critical mass is over 6`.
