Preflowers will show a few weeks after the solistice. However, true flowers will not begin blooming until the days length decreases to around 12 hours light.

Right now the sun rises (in No. CA) at 5:38 am and sets at 8:40 pm which makes about 15 hours of daylight. On 6/21 it will be about 10 minutes changed on both sides. Then will start going shorter. I thought pot harvested in October in the western hemisphere, but maybe that's only the western US. I got on this conversation last night right after I smoked and was as confused as I am now. Thanks for asking :)

no, the longest day of the year is the summer solstice. it means that the days will get shorter which will cause the plants to flower fairly soon, within a couple months. The solstice is a special astronomical day.

yes i live in bc and harvest time here is october too but obviously to harvest before it snows flowering would have to start a month or 2 before in order for it to have the time it needs. Just thought maybe the summer solstice was the beggining of flowering, which would suck for me cause they say your plant doubles in size when it flowers which would only give me like a 2-4 foot plant:cuss:i'm growing outside and want the biggest monster i can grow

if you're harvesting mid october, than flowering is starting mid august, which is about one month after the solstice. I'm guessing sativas take until november.

you in BC? I'm right there.

In my experience the pot shops in No. CA start lowering their prices at the end of August when first outdoors is harvested and it gets cheaper through Oct. as more gets harvested and the market gluts. Never heard of harvest in Nov. especially way up there. I think the harvest time will be according to the strain, when it was planted, what plant zone, etc. and that's why ours comes in Aug. through Oct. This is my first outside and she's a goo and was planted on 5/10. I'm going to just watch and wait ~
