Hey, ya'll just thought i would take a poll to see what kind of dogs you have watching your grow-ops. Mine's a rottweiler/german shepherd mix named Porkchop the dog. Got a black cat named blotter. I wish they were green so the hairs they get on the "garden" wouldn't show.

Rhodesian Ridgeback. 8) She's a big girl, but no good around tender plants. Her tail will whack 'em apart, so she's not allowed where they are. She does let me know when someone's here, and keeps them back well enough.

We think our Black lab is part ridgeback because she has the ridge defined on her back

110 lb. Labramutt. He's part Lab and part ???? Best dog I've ever had!!! I don't let him in my grow room though because he rolls around in god knows what outside and I don't want him bringing in bugs or insects that could cause infestation. He lays outside the door in the hallway with just his head poking through the door.... watching mommy tend to the OTHER babies in the house. He doesn't mind waiting patiently as he knows he is always my first priority baby :D

That's a nice dog, Florida. He reminds me of the Ridgeback (the eyes). She hasn't got the ridge, for which I'm glad after I've read some of the stuff that can happen to dogs with strong ridges. She does kind o resemble a pit to some people, but look at a European Ridgie, and that's her. She was marked at the animal control as a "lab mix". Ain't no lab in that dawg.

Thanks Seamaiden!! I wonder if that is what my baby Jack is mixed with... a ridgeback. I've been trying to figure it out but I'm just not sure. I just looked up Ridgeback's and I agree... they do look similar to my Jack. They now have DNA testing for dogs so you can figure out what mix your mutt is. I think I'm going to have it done on Jack. :)

A Norwegian, eh? Haven't run across one of those myself, though I did have a close encounter with a Mojave green.

He does have those "lion eyes", and Hazel's got the same thing going on. It's at its best when she's in deep, dry grass and focused on something, then she resembles the lioness. In that pic Jack's eyes seem to match his coat, that's a trait of Ridgies.

Oh he is so handsome. Give him a big hug for me and scratch on his butt, lol.

I have 2 Labrador Retrievers, pure bred. They keep me busy. They are 6 months apart in age so both 4. They have calmed down in the past year and have become great dogs. I could not imagine life without a dog in it, just pure love and joy.
Here are my guys, Bosco is the white one and Chester is the black one. They both love to take tokes too, always hovering around when we are smoking, lol.:peace:

Awww... nice, Chiceh, very nice. 8)
You know what? I realized later in life that I just have a "thing" for big dogs. Not always huge dogs, definitely not drooly dogs, but I do really prefer larger dogs.
