This is a bad sign for republicans, these people are patriots and dangerous, to maga republicans. Are they holding clarence Thomas and his wife to the same standards, how about the Alito's? They sound like real fighters for liberal democracy, each in their own way, a threat to fascist assholes everywhere! Let the death threats begin, the judge too, then the jury and witnesses, they will pour in by the thousands and might be made on twitter, if Elon isn't careful.

when they explain why it's ok for uncle thom to issue rulings on issues his wife is deeply involved with, then i might give a shit what Smith's wife does

I’m starting to think you ought to be some kind of coach :joint:
Thanks for the positivity
It’s gonna be a hell of a ride the next couple years for sure
I'm old enough to remember how this shit worked in the wake of Watergate and while times change, the DOJ remains the same, if under the traditional kind of management. The election is over, and this will freak Trump out during the Georgia runoffs, after that he's toast. Listen to the experts and look at the facts, ignore the talking heads on TV ranting about a 2024 run etc, it's all ratings bullshit. Even Bill Barr says Donald s going down for the documents and that is what Jack will get out of the way first, Donald. After he is gone and no deals for his ass are really required, who is left for these assholes to sell out for time off? A senator is a big fish and so are congress people and worth making a deal for. It's just simple logic, nothing complicated about it, just remember who you are dealing with and what they are facing.

You have to admit, having Trump running around fucking up Mitch and Karl's election plan, gave the democrats an advantage in the election and explains the slow start to the J6 hearings. Trump is like a millstone around their necks and things are so close that if his hardcore base walks out on them they are screwed.

Maybe I'll start a new thread about Donald's many future legal problems, something general and all encompassing. Jack and the Teflon Don might be good, but Donald is facing state charges too.

I know many think he will squirm away on a trail of slime, but I think not, Donald's number is clearly up over the documents case. I think Jack wants to dispose of Donald before the new congress sits and I can't see why he couldn't do him very quickly over the documents and obstruction charges. Get rid of the Kingpin and then go after the cronies, minions, government officials and politicians involved in J6. Donald will be disposed of first and be in prison before any others, so government officials and politicans are the only ones left to sell out for a deal, Jack already put the Kingpin away for life. If Donald's cronies see him get 20 years, it will scare the living shit out of everyone involved, they know what they did and said to others. They will be looking to sell out whoever they can and the only ones worth it to Jack are elected officials and government employees.

Newly appointed special counsel Jack Smith is getting to work with no signs yet that the two investigations he now oversees around Donald Trump will slow down – despite being stuck in the Netherlands due to a cycling injury. The Justice Department notified a federal appeals court that Smith is now involved in the Mar-a-Lago case, and shared documents showing he’s received Attorney General Merrick Garland’s direction and taken his oath of office.

2023 promises to be an interesting legal year and Jack will be in Georgia too, I'm sure the breadcrumbs over J6 will lead there too. Who does the fake elector scheme federally? It was part of the hub and spoke conspiracy too, but the axel will be removed from the hub first before the disassembly of the wheel.

i have the feeling that this man will either reaffirm my faith in justice and the American legal system, or crush it forever...
and i can't wait to find out, while simultaneously dreading the answer.

I swear I'm on "team Indictment", but i still have NO faith that anything will move forward against trump.
We won't have long to wait I think, any time after Dec 6th Georgia run off, it sounds like Jack has his ducks all lined up for the secret docs and obstruction, simple as shit cases and Trump has no defense. When they indict him, the judge owns Donald's ass until trial, so there is a limit to how much he can freak out over it in public, because any DC federal judge with a brain would muzzle him at the plea hearing. I don't see any reason for delay beyond the Georgia runoff, the judge canon appeal should be done and won by then too, but it was just a side show. Jack has a reputation for hard charging and speed, fast Jack, he didn't leave his fresh new reappointment in the Hague to fuck around with Donald. After looking at the evidence and possible defenses, the judge should set aside a week maybe two to hear the case when it gets to trial.

I'm old enough to remember the wake of Watergate and how the DOJ used to work for lots of scandals when someone wanted to get to the bottom of them. As I said many times, justice was delayed for Trump because of the midterm elections where they had maximum impact, so was the timing of Mar A logo. We have seen the result on the GOP of Trump running around loose during election season, he is a big part of the reason they lost. Garland and the democrats can't legitimately control much of this process, but they can legally and ethically set the timetable with a bit of careful thinking and delay. I think that might be what shook your faith in the Justice system, Joe's administration will be as clean as a cat's asshole and the DOJ will operate in the traditional way, vital political and national security considerations aside. Keeping these lunatics from controlling the house and senate after what they did took priority. Slow and steady, strangle the fuckers with their own tongues, just like Putin, Sleepy Joe will put them down slowly by strangulation and bleeding them white.
