I cringe when I see people doing that. If it is glowing, it is hitting - get a good draw and let your lungs make it glow.

I hate lending my lighter to #$@$%s who sit there and torch the bowl. Complete waste of weed, then they wonder why they're barely high after 3 bowls and my lighter doesn't work any more.
