DR120 600w x2 or DR150 1000w x1?

Currently I've been using a 600w HPS in a 4.5' x 3.5' open closet. I've been using this setup for years and always end up with about 9-10oz from 8-12 plants. I'm wanting to do a nicer setup with a ventilated tent to help with smell and heat, but I'm also increasing my goals. I would like to have about 15-20 plants and/or 15-20oz.

So as the title says would getting one DR150 with 1000w be sufficient? Or could I even go with a DR120 and 1000w? Or do I need at least two separate DR120 with 600w's to achieve these results? I'd rather have the single tent because of cost.

Also if anyone knows of a good QUIET fan, I really need something as silent as possible.

Also wanted to ask a ventilation question:

Venting into an attic or out of a window is not an option in my situation. The tent will be in an air-conditioned room that is 10' x 12' and an ambient of 73 deg. Will I be able to keep the room cool enough for 1 1000w light without venting straight into an attic? It is a modern home with a pretty decent A/C setup so the room has a cold air vent and 12'x12" return for the A/C. I plan on venting the tent with a cooled hood but just exhausting the hot air into the same room.

I have a sum what similar setup as your wanting to put together. Got a Dr120 in a spare bedroom with a 400 w mh for veg and 600hps for flower. Im not able to vent to an attic or window also, so I vent into the same space as the tent. I live in a dry desert climate and can keep my temps with the 600 in at 83 in tent and about 77-78 ambient room temp. Again that's a 600 not 1000 like you want. I find keeping the window open helps out a lot and hanging a damp towel in the tent helps also.

What do you keep your A/C set at? Opening a window here is not really an option either unfortunetly, its too hot and rainy. Room is going to be sealed.

2 600s..ull get a better footprint and 200 more watts..and prob same of less heat than 1 1000w i had a 1000w hooked up for 3 hours in my tent took tht shit out its not worth the ventiliation issues to me anyways..in a grow room its different but in a tent id go with the 2 600s..good luck

Two 600w's in the same tent you're saying? That would be cooler than a single 1000w??

yes. i would say so u can pull the air thru both hoods with the same fan..ud prob need a fan blowing air in and pulling out of a 1000w hood in a area tht small..

i dont even have a air cooled hood on my 400w in a 3x3 tent..i just suck air out the top with a 160 CFM and have a fan over the canopy..temps dont go over 80F unless its 95F+ outside..but the room outside the tent is A/C'ed..i put tht 1000w up with an aircooled hood and a 160CFM venting the hood and 160CFm venting the top of the tent..cudnt do it..i suppose if u wanna get a nice ass fan for $200 like runs at like 400CFM u cud get 2 1000watts in there but u wudnt need tht

I have a 4x8x7 tent running two 600w lights with an inline 8" exhaust fan. Ambient temps of 65 tent stays @ 75. I am able to exhaust out of my chimney though.

I certainly don't need 2x 1000w. I was thinking of doing the DR150 with 1x 1000w, aircooled hood, and a Panasonic Whisper fan 240cfm. Do you think it will be too weak? Heard some good reviews of the fan.

I'm thinking of doing a "SOG type" grow, except having them all start from seed each time. 20 total in the 5x5 tent giving them about 1 sq ft a piece, with a row of space for extra fans. I'm doing 10 right now in a 4.0x3.5 with a 600w and yielding about 8-10oz every time. Hoping the new tent and 1000w would yield me a pound. Reasonable goal or no?

The setup I have now is an open closet and 600w with just a hood. It runs about 85f lately and I've never had any problems growing in those temps. Hopefully I can stay around the same or lower..
