drastic difference in growth rates

hi, i posted for help in my growthread but alas got no answers so i thought i'd give it a quick try here. i planted these two seeds at the same time, same strain and had identical treatment in every way, but one is coming along really nicely and one hasnt grown in 3 days since sprouting.

is it common for some seedlings to grow at a much faster/slower rate than others or is there some mysterious factor im unaware of thats making plant #2 grow much slower. is it focusing all its power into making roots before a big spurt?

any opinions or advice are welcome, and check out my grow journal (link in sig) for more pics.

Oh yes, quite common. Thing is, even the really borked ones seem to catch up, and within a few weeks I bet you're not going to be able to tell the difference between them.

Hey, mammal to mammal, it's my pleasure. Now you've given me an idea, should I start naming my plants instead of numbering them? I might go with the Greek Sophists....

sure! makes it a bit more personal, they'll appreciate it :D

i saw a thread around here recently of someone who was growing like 60 plants and he named every one of em :D

I just haven't because.. well, because I'm going to either have to kill them or watch them die eventually. But the Sophists, hey. ;)
