dresser help

I currently have a 600w HPS, in an open area.

I have an old dresser that Id like to convert, it is about 4 feet tall, 4 feets wide and depth of about 2 feet.

My ballast is dimmable down to 50% so about 300w. I have an MH bulb and an HPS.

I planned on making a clone chamber on one side of it, as small as possible and have the other chamber be for veg/flower. the clone chamber will have my flour light and the bigger chamber my HPS.

I have not been able to find anyone using a light like this in this type of design, everything I can find online shows people using CFLs.

I have already invested in the light kit so I would like to keep using it. Im assuming I would need a cool tube, but can anyone point me in the right direction as to what fans I should be looking at and any other way to keep the temps down? Not concerned with odor as much as I am concerned with making this a grow bow that wont get too hot.

People use CFLs for micros because of the smaller amounts of heat produced in comparison to HPS.

If you're serious about sticking a 600w HPS in a 4 by 4 then you're going to need some nutty source of ventilation.
Once you get the ventilation it's going to take up too much of your room in my opinion, But I could be wrong.

Even if I dim it down to 300?

Perhaps, It should bring the temperatures down but then I just don't see the point in an HPS.


More space and you would be better off my friend for what you're trying to design.

I have a 2'X3'x18" deepCab with a 150W HPS and the heat is barley manageable I use CFL to Veg and the HPS for Flower.

sounds like hps might not b for you. look into a LED.
but if your stuk with hps use a hood with glass and suck as much air out of that space that you can. i would use inline fans to suck the heat out. or put a small ac in the closet with you grow. thats a lot of wattage per space.

you should keep the fan out of the space pulling air.. your plant will need every inch of that space
