Is there a Mean Well driver available that will run 4 cxa3070's @1400mAh with full utilization or would I have to add some 1w chips or something to max out the voltage? Or change how many amps they will pull to fit 4 on one dimmable driver?

I have 5 artic 11 heatsinks with fans and I am building a veg light with 4 of them and a clone light with the remaining heatsink and fan. I really only need the drivers but I'm still out of my league on figuring out the best ones to use with efficiency having top priority..

I found the HLG-185H-C1400A, can I get 3 or 4 cxa3070's on one? Then there is the rooting light..? Is there a driver that will put out say 1400mAh for a single cob and dimmable? Would that be sufficient for a 24"x24"x24" cloning box?

Sorry for all the Q's.. my head is spinning!
Anyways, thanks for any advice/input anybody has.:peace:

HLG-185H-C1400 will power 4 CXB 3070s with not much to spare. No need to max out the voltage unless you want to. Probably best for the driver over the long run if you don't. For other drivers check out meanwell.com they have an LED section with a list to all the datasheets showing the max voltage that will be split between the cobs... easy to see how many cobs a particular driver will support by comparing the cob's typical voltage at 25C.

HLG-185H-C1400A will definitely push 3 CXA3070'S not 100% if they can push 4 @ 1.4A though as they will pull a little more voltage then what the driver is designed for but with that said the datasheet list OVP at 160-170v so it might be OK with 4. I am sure someone else can confirm or deny this. As far as a driver for a single COB @ 1.4A you can check out LPC-60-1400

I agree no need to run at maximum rated voltage especially with the meanwell drivers. They heat peak efficiency anywhere between 50-60% load all the way up to 100%. As long as your pulling 50-60% of its rated maximum then you in the efficiency range.

HLG185-1400's will not run 4 cxA's...at least not at 1400ma. It drops the current down to ~950ma, where the cxA's voltages are low enough to fit the driver.

It will run 4 cxB's just fine though. Possibly the best improvement to the cx series was the lower voltage.
I swear that's what I was told when I was building my first light. Thanks for the correction @Greengenes707. Looks like I need to price out some cxb's

The LPC-60-1400 isn't dimmable by the way - I'm thinking that a CXB3070 running at 1.4A in a 2x2x2 space for cloning might be too much light, and might cook your clones. I'd think about running the cob softer or going with some smaller cobs or some 3 watt white LEDs or something like that.
Good catch, defiantly don't want to run a 50w cob with 24" of vertical space.

Probably one of the cheaper dimmable drivers going. Efficiency isn't bad either for the price point and comes from a reputable manufacturer as well not the cheap China junk.
