Drooping fan leaves but perky growth...

Another day and the fan leaves still look droopy. When I returned from vacation and found they needed water badly, I gave it water without nutrients (because I had been giving nutrients too frequently). The next day I found that it still looked a little droopy so I added about 3.5gallons more but with a half concentration of nutrients. It rained a lot that night so I'm starting to think that the leaves are staying droopy due to overwatering... I'm really tempted to water now but the medium still feels a little damp and the new growth isn't drooping so I'm gonna go with my gut and wait another day... any thoughts?

If you know they have water then leave them be ....looks like possible overwatering IMO. As you know under watered plants look wilted and lifeless...overwatered look heavy and the leafs stems droop ...but the leaf holds it's shape unlike under watered plants .....let them dry out good

Ya that's what I'm doing. I'm 99% sure that because my container is buried, all the rain we have been having here is accumulating in the bottom of the hole. I have a layer about 6" thick of 0-3/4" rocks to help with drainage but we've been getting rain every second day so it's hard for it to dry out. It'll be 7 days tomorrow that I haven't watered it. My other 2 plants are fine, both of them have containers above ground.

Yeah if you've been getting lots of rain there good on water for sure. I wouldn't worry much they look nice. Hopefully the rain holds out for you. I gave up on sinking my plants in the ground several years back ...I had to many gopher and drainage issues. I'd back fill with good soil and line the holes with wire etc etc ...but my soil sucks on my ranch ...it's sticky ass clay with giant river rock all through it ....I changed to giant smart pots and haven't looked back since ....the only down side I've seen to smart pots is the height of the plants is a few feet more obviously and I have to water more frequently as well.... The height thing may sound dumb, but I hate being on the ladder to tie my girls as it is ....the smart pots add another 1 to 2 feet ....meaning more ladder time and higher up ....Good problem to have I guess...but I hate dragging the ladder around the greenhouses between plants etc etc ...I bought a super light fiberglass ladder....much easier so far ....still have to climb the fucker though .......GL

I would love to have that problem hahah. I had to sink the 20gallon container into the ground because I only have a 6.5 foot fence behind them and I'm worried about someone seeing them from the street and either calling the cops or stealing them. Even in the ground when it got to 5 feet I had to start bending it. Then I topped all the branches that were all growing the same height. But I went on vacation for a week and left watering instructions with my inlaws... in 8days they gave maybe 7gallons total to the 3 plants (5gal,10gal,20gal) and they had 30plus degree days with direct sun in a row. When I came back all 3 looked borderline dead, I was pissed
