well what started with one plant doing the speradic has ended up in both. they seem to do fine in dark but after half hour or so, they fall over. I use no nutes other than whats in my perlite. I have not watered in two days, they are 2 weeks old. I use a 400w MH and thats all. room is vented and has fan blowing. heat is at 97f and humidity is at 42% which also says is high relative to the temp. I need some help asap please.

Those are stretching really bad towards the light, you need to get it closer. Do you have a fan blowing on the plants themselves to strengthen the stems? What kind of lighting are using? I

That seriously suprises me that there is not a second set of leaves on there and your 2 weeks in. They seem behind a bit. Stretchin bad.

so what might you say is the problem? I just transplanted so i could raise the soil level and help support them. the soil was relatively wet so im thinking over watered. is that possible? what about my temp and humidity? thx for all the feedback I got so fast. Im in the right spot for assistance. thx

You did the right thing in transplanting them, however, I would have opted to allow at least another week root development prior to. Packing the soil at base line and adding on would have sufficed for now.

So long as you handled your seedling gently, all should be fine.

Just so you know, a 26 watt cfl alone would be sufficient for vegging at this stage.
The easiest way not to overwater a seedling is to use a mister...spraying only directly around developing root system.

first the humidity is a little high but the temp is way to high bring it down about 20 degrees....
as suggested by other bring the lights down....how high do you have them?
I have used cups before and found that they are easy to overwater.......water very little
yes for 2 weeks your plants are behind a bit, but that is not a really big problem....unless they are autoflowering
if they continue to stretch towards the light you might want to use straws to keep them up..........

good luck, god speed, and welcome to RIU

have you been letting them dry out fully before watering? Because you should be. Your temp needs to come down if at all possible, 97f is pretty hot.

i'd transplant them into 2 or 3 gallon grow bags/pots now, bury the plant so its baby leaves are an inch or so from the soil top when you do.

i agree completely....though a 400w MH isn't a bad start at all
and some people have different views of when vegging begins.....some say its around the time when the true leaves show others thing when sprouted and other might say when the baby round leaves fall off.....i forget the name right now

thanks for the help, I tried to handle as careful as possible but it was hard with it being flopped over and what not, the soil was really damp and the soil fell apart some but the roots were never showing or left the soil clump. i believe they were overwatered. my light is about 15 inches from top of plant. is 400w MH too much right now? I cannot lower my temp easily due to its a closet op and no A/C. with door cracked it has stayed 88 degrees and 45% humidity. you know what the humidity levels should be? sorry for so many ?s but i want to learn this right. thx for the welcome. u were the first.

A MH should not be to close. If you werre using fluorescents you should be within 10 inches. With MH you should be little further especially with those temps. Let soil dry almost completely before next watering. Put a fan on them or get a small ac unit it would not hurt you and keep in mind a plant could produce 2-3 ounces pretty easily so if its decent weed it is well worth the $2-300you will spend to treat them right because you will spend much more then that on 4-6 ounces no matter where you are.

My room is a closet so puttin a AC in would be hard. I have a furnace blower mounted on wall to push inside air out of house. No inbound air other than cracking the door and blowing room air in thru. whats a carbon filter for? during dark the temp is still at like 85-88, humidity at 40% now tho. white rubber roofing material on walls and stand for reflectivity i guess. Looks nice tho. lol. anyways......my blower pumps directly to outside via hole I cut in the house and put a dryer vent cap on it. it blows hard because on the outsside the air is hot hot. it keeps my humidity down a bit. any pointers after all that. Mh is 400w and 15" from plants. they stretch and stay skinny if its farther. dont care for cfl. i have sylvania sunstix that are 90 cri and 1200 lumens per sq ft. mounted center back wall but those were for flowering. two pis of room is full view and blower.
