droopy leaves

i just switched to a homemade hydro system (a 22 gallon tub with fish tank bubbly) and my leaves are really getting droopy. its only been a day in the system, but i'm afraid the plant is going to die in the next few days if i don't fix whatever i'm doing wrong. i'm keeping the pH between 6-6.5 and ppm's at 1190. there's two flors and its in a mini hydro hut. i have the plants roots about halfway submerged with rock pebbles and the jiffly pellet.

am i not getting enough light to allow the plant to use the water?? since its a tub there's no way to drain and re-fill.

any help as soon as possible would be great, i dont want this sucker to die!

(no pictures, but its about 6 cm tall with droopy leaves)

What were the PPM's in the previous setup? 1190 sounds kind of rich for a 6cm plant. Why can't you drain the tub? You should be able to figure out some way to drain it.

oops sorry. i meant to say its about 6 inches tall. my roomate and i were just growing it in the closet in a propagator with nothing but tap water until we had time to start making the hydro system.

i pruned some of the bigger leaves and took the basket out of the water, but the leaves are still dropping pretty bad. should i not water it for a few days until the leaves start coming back up?

any advice on a good ebb flow system that i could make or a drip system?

thanks for the help!

yeah, i had the same problem on my 1st crop. Pretty much everything I could have done wrong I did: pH too high, used nutes from the beginning and over-nuted them, humidity too low, heat fluctuating etc. etc. My plants were droopy and my leaves were curling, twisting etc. They have started to perk up a bit and are looking better now that my pH is consistent. Nutes are tough, I think I am going to invest in an EC meter so I can more closely monitor my plants and their needs. Good luck!
