Dry or Manicure First?

My 6 footer is ready, but the 4 footer could use a day or two more. My question is, should I chop it down and dry it for a day or two and then manicure it? Or, should I manicure it first then chop it down and dry it out then? Also, what is the best method of drying? I heard hang upside down, shake the excess dirt off the roots and hang upside down by the roots. Or, do you chop about mid-branch and dry from there? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Cut the plant at the base, above ground level.

Hang on wire or lay on screens to dry.

I find manicuring easier when fresh, so I cut off the leaf right after harvest. I cut up individual branches, cause they're easier to handle. I cut the mainstem at each branch, leaving a couple inches of the mainstem, and that makes a nifty hanger. Then I hang each branch on a line for 4-5 days.

Then seal it up to cure.
