Dry out plant before harvesting? (Hydro)

Hey people, I've read a lot of different posts that recommend drying your plants out some in the days (week?) before harvest. I've read that this is supposed to make the plant go into a heavy trichome production and really make the buds thrive. Anyone ever heard of this or tried it? Does it work with hydro also and how do you go about it?

Thanks

never heard of anything like that.... but i'm still a newb.

i've heard of giving it 24-48 hours of darkness, that causes resin production to increase. apparently....

I like to flush them good for a week and a half. After that I use low amounts of water, slowly drying it out. Makes trimming easier as well.

i donno bout that bro just flush em with water a lot for a week or longer then cut the stalk just above your medium before your lights come on so sugars and nutes are not in the plant.... seems to me you would get root then eventually bud rot from that but u might not wanna do it and fuck it up after puttin all that hard work in

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll probably just stick to flushing it. Might try the lower water idea, we'll see...
