Drying/curing street weed, what do you do? Experiences in improvement?

So I am not in a position to grow unfortunately, I can get my hands on some alright stuff that has been grown however I much rather prefer a high that isn't as heady/fresh.

Yes I know that the strains can determine this, but from previous experience of growing a shitty indica ruderalis strain then curing it for a year, it makes it sooo much better, you can just not compare to fresh/only dried pot.

So do you cure pot that you don't grow yourselves? The stuff I get is very fresh and perhaps has not even been dried properly. So surely trying to dry/cure it would not help. After all why would someone who is growing for profit bother drying/curing their crop when it would lose value.

Just asking for some thoughts, Cheers and peace brothers and sisters :leaf:

In my opinion (hypothetically speaking of course) if I were to sell it. I would rather properly dry and cure my buds, because satisfied customers=more customers=more money=and a better reputation as in you get the good shit and what not. You could dry and cure it, if it is still wet when you get it. Research some methods of drying, and the mot popular way of curing I have seen is putting the buds into mason jars and letting them breathe a couple times a day for an hour or two. I could be wrong. Although, drying and curing will take some time. Especially if you want to get the best quality you can out of the bud. I hope this helped at least a bit.

Yeah you see if I was selling alot of weed, I wouldn't want to cure it because it loses water and hence value in most peoples minds. Also you would have to hold on to large quantities of pot. So really for street weed it doesn't make sense to dry/cure it properly

If people want quality, it has to be properly cured like u mentioned before. Why not just throw it in the oven at 150 and sun dry it, if you just want the quick buck?

I am not being a d*ck, but...I have done that. I did it with some ak48...really dank shit. Put it in the oven, it weighed about 3 grams going into the oven. Came out to only about .8 ....to the OP. You are right though. A lot of sellers don't cure and dry their bud properly because they have to have it available as soon as possible and to sell. That is when you get mid-grade weed. Shit that wasn't cured or dried in any proper way what so ever. It can happen with all types of weed, but shit if I wanted to get it dried quickly. I would just put it under light for about an hour. I don't know man. Seems stupid to me, but to some people it makes sense.

I guess theres no real argument here. It really depends on your locations demand for high quality. Where im from uncured bud doesnt fly around unless its for dirt cheap.

Has to be the dumbest comment I have read in awhile. So people who grow pot to sell world rather sell crap then sell good weed? Are you new to pot or just have shitty friends?

Hence street weed is most likely fresh uncured weed.
Hence, most street weed is ditch weed that a dealer has sprayed down to add moisture and weight. Unless you know who grew your pot, grew it yourself, or bought it medically...you never know how it has been handled and what may have been done to it.

so the high directly refers to your tricombs clear to cloudy are head high and amber is a good body to couch lock high. if they are harvested to soon the trichs will not be ready but like fruit the buds will continue to ripen and give you a better high. never buy wet weed it can get mold to eaisly. weed in calif where it is abundant is verry judged. smell, taste and high so it must be dried properly (or else it gets mold) and cures 2 months to 1 year. but if you have imature bud its never gonna be great. Hopes this hels :)

I am from south east australia in the city so I don't have access to the greatest of pot. Why would dealers sell more light weed rather than less heavy weed. Do you understand basic math?

read this thread. When you cure, chemical changes happen to the bud. http://www.420magazine.com/forums/frequently-asked-questions/86257-how-cure-your-marijuana-crop.html

I get your point, if you bought from your friends you would expect great cured pot. Alas I don't have a good bunch of weed growing friends. Hence I'm forced to buy pot from dealers. Dealers meaning someone operating for profit.
