Drying my plants

Ok so I have 4 different strains.. the first strain bubba kush looks like it's going to be done anyday. So I will need to dry it in the same room as the carbon filter.. however it runs around 80 degrees in that room. I was thinking a way I could prevent it from drying to fast would be to cut the whole plant and keep it all together? What do you guys recommend. The room has a lot of air flow too from the 400 cfm fan. Humidity stays around 50% but can go up around 60 at times

You need another area to dry in. Or you get what you get. Cutting at the ground will help to degree but not enough for what want. Light also degrades thc.

Hang the bud and drape something over it lightly, like a dry cleaner bag or a trash bag. Will extend drying time a lot.

Poke holes in the top...if you try this. It should also be out of the light somehow.

10-4 on

10-4 on the holes in the top. You don't want to start mold/mildew so you still need a bit of airflow, but you can drastically extend curing/hanging time with a vapor barrier of some type. Curing to me is the most tedious process. Need to check 2-3 times/day, make little adjustments along the way. Not rocket science but you want the overall humidity of the buds to drop slowly over 7-10 days in an enclosed environment to around 62%. Then throw a 62% Bovida pack in each container, and you have it dicked.

Lotsa ways to do it but I found any kind of enclosure that prevents airflow and shields from light while allowing passive air exchange will work. Temps above 70 will dry out your shit way too fast but the smell should be minimal even without filtration if you build a drying box; just burn some incense to cover it up for the week or so until the buds are ready for jars. A dry box could be as simple as a clean trash can with string across or something to hang branches from with a lid/cover on loosely kept in a dark room. I prefer to use inert materials like plastic instead of cardboard to build a dry box because corrugated boxboard tends to wick up moisture.
I use an old stereo rack inside a closet. It is strung with cord inside to hang branches or whole plants from and all the glass shelving was removed. It's just a frame basically and then I drape/wrap a piece of 3mm black plastic around it sort of like a tent. It gets passive fresh air but it is stifled and it stays dark in there. I trim the colas dry so it takes even longer to hang dry and it's kind of a pain in the ass but makes for a superior end product IMO...
It should at least 7-10 days to dry until branches snap when bent. I think it's better to keep the plant as whole as you can to prolong dry time and then you can use the stems to tell you when it's done. If the stem doesn't snap and bends instead it's not ready to jar yet. Breaking it all up or cutting off the buds speeds up drying but that's not really a good thing unless you plan to run as concentrate.
