Drying

Can anyone give me a round about answer. I have asked the question before and all I get is smart ass remarks. I know it may seems stupid to some (so dont answer). But I'm not looking for a 3 paragraph spill on harvesting and drying, just a simple answer if you got one. Anyway my question is about drying, my drying room is 72 degrees and 22% rh stable, ruffly how long to dry. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

hang until stems are dry enough that they snap when you bend them then put in jars and cure. should hang for at least a week to ten days.

i hang mine until they start getting crunchy yet still a bit of moisture at the center of the bud they will redistribute the moisture when you jar them, if they are still too moist lay them out on paper for a couple hours during the day

You could be talking 3-5days max with that low RH.

The RH you are quoting is that with plants hanging in there? Or before your plants are in the drying area?


Freshly cut plants add to the RH of the room also.

No the rh was 22% and still is, at the 2nd day of drying and it is 9 plants roughly 4 ounces. So far the rh has stayed the same

Personally i would be worried with RH that low.

I try to keep my RH around 50% for a long period of time that way the dry is slower and less harsh on the smoke.

Do you live in a very dry environment? Or is your central heating on alot?

I dry mine at about 65 deg/ 25-30% RH with a breeze blowing over them....just took 9 days to get dry enough to jar'em....Since I vape, I want my buds VERY dry .....

Yeah I have central heat and air, so yeah the gas heat plays a role. I just assumed that 22% wasn't to low, but then again I'm no expert at all.

The best thing you can do is just take it day to day. At day 4 or 5 you should be checking the stems to see if they snap easily or not. you want that "no-snap but cracking" level of the stems verifying that the outsides are dry but there's moisture still in the stem. This is an ideal time to start your cure.

Depending on the size and density of your buds.

5 to 8 days in my opinion.
