Mossberg back hones their waterfowl and turkey barrels. The metal is thinner. It is supposed to improve shot pattern. You risk failure if shooting a slug out of it. I bought a 26 in remington 870 12ga 3.5 camo for 350 brand new and it will eat any shell I put through it. Only some one stupid would pay twice what a gun is worth just because it says Duck Dyn on it.

I'm planning on hunting duck and turkey with the 500, I will also prob go and hunt with them good ole boys and get them to sign my firearms and at that point my firearms become worth every penny and then some.
