Is it possible that the 5 gallon buckets I got from lowes are toxic to the root system in my DWC? Should I be looking for food grade plastic containers?

I use lowes 5gal buckets to grow (soil) and my plants are fine.

lowes is geared for us. if you look around you'll start seeing different stuff to build hydro set ups. lawn irrigation sprinklers, pumps, buckets, vinyl fence posts, etc... whoever stocks the stores grows also imho. they are still missing air pumps and stones tho. but once he discovers dwc they'll stock that stuff too.
