My friend is scared to ask anyone at risk of looking stupid so im on here to ask opinions on DWC (clay pebbles) and flush times
He was told two weeks (straight water-no RO- no PH) and it just doesn’t sound fucking right
From my own research i think a 3-7 day flush with an agent sounds better, help !?

Ive read about the no flush option but didnt feel the need to put it in the poll, i dont think anyone enjoys smoking weed full of chemicals

Chemicals you say? You came here for advice from experienced growers but you already made up your mind? Everything's has chemical structure by nature dude, either made by man or nature. Chemicals means interaction of substances, you have organic chemistry and synthetic. But at the end of the day you still talk about the same thing, chemistry and in our case minerals available to plants.

If you need to flush to wash out excess nutrients at the end stage of growth you already failed by not operating the system properly TBH.

I should have been more open to the setup his using prehaps because what you say applies but not to this grow
Im asking specifically for his grow, so chemicals are a problem as his using synthetic additives and bloom ect

But your skipping past the real question.....
How long should one flush (if want chemicals removed like many growers do)
3-7 days
Or
2 weeks

Flush for 2 weeks straight water to get them nice and yellow and keep the buds from swelling; if that's what you're going for. Personally I cut back the nutes to less than 50% the last week. I like a little fade and they can still find some nutes to swell buds.

Flushing is a myth. My plants generally stay green and healthy until the end. it didn’t matter if I was running soil, coco, my rdwc setup or ebb and flow. Don’t starve your plant let them eat and get the most out of you plants. Dry properly and you’ll be fine

Spend the 2 weeks making sure you guys understand how important a proper dry is and setting up for it. If the weed sucks, it’s most likely that, guys like to blame flushing but like mentioned, not needed. Listen to the above advice. And don’t chop early. Asking about flushing, bad dry and cure, early chop.. these topics are related imo.

How are you smoking chemicals? If "Flushing" flushed the "Chemicals" you speak of out of the plant then where do these "Chemicals" go?

What your doing is not flushing. You only "flush" when you fuck up.

Run 3 or 4 days straight ph'd tap water before you chop.

Going 2 weeks without feed is bad in hydro. If you done everything correctly. The plants are not over fed. The smoke will be great. If you fed hi N all flower it will not matter how much water you pump through that plant. It will taste like trash.

In the end the only bad option is not feeding for 2 weeks.

Flushing doesn't remove "chemicals" from the plant, flushing removes "chemicals" from the media. It might make sense to flush in soil or coco because you could have (too many) nutes built up in the media. With DWC, you don't flush because the media is the water that I assume he's changing out every week.
