Dwc First grow: plant is droopy need help ASAP

hey guys how's it going hope you are all doing good and staying higher than a kite. Well my issue is that I transplanted my plant (which my friend gave me with insects so who knows how healthy this plant was prior to me getting it) to hydroponics the first couple of days it was up and fine and then out of nowhere bam it started falling. My reservoir solution was an inch under the net cup as I saw many recommended it that way. So what I tried doing was just filling the reservoir with more water so the solution can submerge the roots, leaving half an inch of solution above the net cup. I would greatly appreciate constructive criticism due to the fact it's my first grow and hydroponics ! I was also wondering if I could see my bucket that is leaking with silicone inside and out for the fact that the solution would be making contact with the dried up silicone. Thanks in advance guys

Hmmm... prior to the transplant was it in soil by any chance? A sudden drastic change in the enviroment would be the cause and while growers generally avoid going from soil to hydro (or visa versa), it can be done but not without a little bit of shock.

yes it was in soil but i did it because the prior owner didnt take care of the soil

What is the temperature of the reservoir solution? I think it should bounce back.... although I'm not sure, I've never transplanted from soil to hydro.

There is a chance it might die, the change of medium is drastic.

That plant looks dead. Some of it may recover, but it doesn't look good. If it does recover its gone through so much stress at this point there a good chance it won't produce well or herm.

it was around 69-70 any tips on how to keep that temperature cool maybe a home made remedy or possibly if i buy something at a store i could make that would be great.

ya thats what i thought but some of the leaves look like they are coming back. This plant was experimental for me you could say. are you currently doing hydro also ?

I'm currently running dwc and aero. So yeah. Like I said, some of it might recover, but it looks like it's hurting pretty bad. I would get other stuff going just in case lol, if this one is an experiment then not a huge loss, still sad with a plant that size.

do you recommend i keep the setup i have or switch ? ya i know it sucks :# what if i try cloning i piece that looks alive ?

how do you keep your solution cold ? or at a good temp?

You can do that if you want. Do you have an airstones in your res?

She is looking real bad. I'm not sure that it will recover but she a fair size so there is a chance. You will know in a day or two.

I think that you should make sure that your environment is setup right, proper nutrient levels etc. to avoid having this happen again.

I can tell you for sure that it's 100% possible to go from soil to hydro. I do it every grow. I make clones by sticking cuttings in dirt and then move them to hydro for my perpetual grow.

Normally i'm transplanting small plants from soil so there are not a lot of roots and it's a small pot, but it is very important to wash all of the dirt off the roots. I've tried the lazy wash and paid the price.

With a plant that size i'm suspecting that there were a lot of roots? Did you wash them off ? Were you able to feed any thru the net pot?

What are you using for nutes? At this stage i might just go with straight water to see what happens.

ya there was alot and i made sure all the dirt and little pieces of wood were out of the roots. ya i made sure a good amount of roots were coming out of the net cup. For my nutrient im using flora series. It was at my brothers house and he is a dickhead so i just decided to take it down and get everything ready and get a new plant. i was wondering if you had kik messenger or any sort of messenger?

I don't really have any type of messenger...but you can send me messages here.

If you do go from soil to hydro again you also want to make sure that you start with very low nutrient levels and work you way up. The flora series is nice, natural and all in one.

Hey there everyone my plant is kinda drooping an i was wondering if maybe some one could help im running a air pump with two line output an put both air lines to one stone. I also have a water pump in the bottom of my 5 gal bucket running to the top water falling to help as well. Im currently using mg all purpose plant food which i dont care for but dont have cash to buy flora series. My res temp stays around 60-62 deg. I use tap but have to ph it down to 6.0-6.5. Any help would be great thank you for your time and ill be posting pics of setup an plant!

I think you want to lower the ph, I'm pretty sure you do not want to go over 6.0.

Thank you any info is greatly appreciated because i am new to dwc. Im hoping this plant pulls through tonight. Its already been in a day, tomorrow will mark its second.i do alright with soil but dwc is proving a bit more challenging.

You can lower the water level a few in. I like the top of my medium to be above the water level.

Should it be ok for the night till i check ph tomorrow or will my roots being submerged kill it by then?

No it'll be fine if you've got enough aeration in the water. But it doesn't need to be that high.
