I use IONIC myself and to be honest have thought of changing! There is alot of other garb you have to add along with it!

And how is it going Atrumblood? Hows the grow?

So I just viewed a DWC set up and have been turned to the true way. The results of hydroponics are spectacular, and the simplicity of deep water culture is glorious. I set out to start a Deep water culture fan club... And found that there is already a huge following. Huzzah my fellow bubblers. Huzzah.

Fellow DWC ers

This is one of my A-Train its about 9 days old. Im using 400w HPS and a DWC system. i am now also using 1/4 strength nutes. what do you think????

I also have 1 problem with leaf curling up at edges i believe i wasnt watering enough please can any one help with this my roots wernt fully in the water yet...

Well, usually I have to "baby" my plants for the first week or so so that the roots don't dry out before they hit the water.

Also, what is your pH: sitting at ?

Hi sorry for late reply. i have another problem now my leaves are really droopy now!!! arghhhhh i havent been watering on top for a few days just letting the roots sit in the water, do you think its under watering??? or my water level is about 1 inch above the bottom of my pots so could this be over watering??????? PH is about 6.5 the temps have been around 60f prob lower in the night!!! humidity has been around 45 could my temps be the issue???

my friend is growing the strain masterkush and the flowering suppose to be 8-9 weeks, my friend is at week 5 n nearly half white hairs are are going orangey/brown colour oxypot used n sensi feed used

I think it sounds like overwatering. You want the top of the cube to be just damp not sopping wet or even close. Rockwool (if that's what you are using) wicks water very effectively. If it's too wet on bottom it is too wet all through and the next stage is stem rot. Lower your water level and let it dry some and see what happens.

Damn dude, that's looking great!.

My plant already has some nice flowers starting out. I will have some pics for you guys later tonight when I get home.

The tent I put up has proven to be just the addition my grow needed.
I just have to figure out the temps issue now so that I can exhaust the heat from the lamp. Also, Doing this on a budget for now until I sell off this next harvest, then I can afford a good fan/carbon filter.

Here is a question for everyone, How full should my bucket's be? They are 5 gal with the pre made 6" lid! I am keeping them 1" bellow the bottom of the pot right now.

6.5 is too high. You want it to be ideally between 5.8-6.0 Generally more towards the 5.8 side during veg and towards the 6.0 side during flower. 6.5 is at the furthes end of the acceptable side, and with dwc, it is generally better to be a little low than high.

Just an observation: I used to work to keep pH below 6. I have started using Humboldt Master A & B and Humboldt says with this product, pH can range from 5.5 - 7.2. Mine has been wanting to stay at 6.5 no matter what I do. So I am now in the 6th week of flowering, having let it go at 6.5 the whole way, and I have never had plants thrive more or be so free of any leaf spots or leaf curling or anything. I dunno, just sayin'

I have noticed the same thing (although I don't use humboldt) my pH: sometimes for an entire grow wants to be higher or lower than recommended, and more times than not, it ends up being a very healthy plant regardless.

I would say that trying to keep your pH at a specific range should be taken more seriously when the plant is younger. As it grows, its preferred environment changes, and that sweet spot for pH: changes with it. Kinda like how a persons dietary needs change as they grow.
