18-20 degrees?!?!?! Holy F*ck! your roots are gonna need heat packs lol
60-65 is ideal temps for roots, right now they prolly have ice on them.... remember that pot grows in good ambient room temps of 70-75 at night and 60-65 at night, the roots should not dip below 55 IMO.....
Oh and remember too cold is always better than too hot for DWC water

Lol water freezes at 32°F I think he might be talking 18-20°C maybe
His room would have to be like 30-40°F for his water to get that cold... at least I am hoping that he is talking 18-20°C
18-20°C is completely fine that is in the best range to grow in

yeah, I certainly hope you were talking Celsius and not Fahrenheit. If you were talking Celsius, then like others have said, you're fine. I run at about the same temp, and my girls seem to do just fine...

what nonsense...
^^^ no that post is nonsense, water temps over 70°F are bad, 22°C is 71°F which is bad. Do you grow in DWC? Do you ever grow pot?

You think 24°C or 75°F is optimum water temps? You are clueless, please stop giving out horrible info bro

not piss on anyones opinion but my take is that roots like warmth but if you are using dwc without airstones in the water then the warmer side of the temp range would be bad because of a lack of oxygen - without oxygenating the water you would want to stay on the cooler side . i highly recommend using air stones in dwc - not that it's necassary - but it is an improvement on the system through guy's alot smarter than you and i - they even have a fancy name like scientist or something -lol.

on a personal note i once had to stay away from my grow cab a couple days and those beasts were thirsty ( not my guests lol ) well when i checked the res they had consumed over half the water - im sure the airstones saved my ladies from more stress than they needed - without a good volume of water there wouldn't be much if any oxygen left . my guests were here 3 days so i had go into emergency mode and take stealth growing to a whole new level sneakingout to fill some buckets with water - they didnt suspect a thing other than the usual "where did you go "? LOL nothing like haveing relatives over and having to sneak around your own pad , but the government insists marijuana is evil and makes us all look like criminals..

For temperature, Id say 17-20 Celsius or like low to mid 60's in Fahrenheit. When the res starts getting over 70 degrees F, then you're liable to start having root problems (pythium, etc.). I had a problem with warm water, and once I added a chiller and some insulation, everything started working much better.

Bad info frfr 75 pythium and fish smell

No stupid bump and bad info there are so many types of pythium it's not funny and pythium is just as easy to get in cold temps. The difference is some species of pythium have a slow metabolic rate in lower temps. Not all! And it will not prevent it

Fucking broscience bullshit that's just regurgitated as fact optimal temps for growth taking DO into account and providing you can keep an adequate amount of aeration is 72-77F

why would someone not use airstones? a pump, line, valve check/adjust and a stone cost like 15 bucks at best at a pet store lol

Did you read his whole post?
I wonder how DWC without an airstone looks.
Kratky?
ya i did, i couldnt imagine someone not using an airstone because stones are that cheap.

only way to oxygenate the water outside the airstone would be to use a pump and fall system
