DWC RO issues

Hi guys I have just ptut a DWC system together and I a still a newbie at hydroponics, I have a new RO sustem dedicated for my plants and today I tested it out for the first time the ph of it is 7.5 which is ok I have buffer solution to buffer that down but I have my ec of 2.2 just the RO water.

I understand that it needs to be much lower than this to start off seedlings and seeds never had any problem in the past going in soil but when it comes to hydro I have no clue is 2.2 high for an ec rating, there must be a lot of dissolved solids in the water of my country.

What I was going to do is leave it sit for 2 days and see if any pf the dissolved solids evaporte but I dont think it will go down past an ec of 2.0.

Can or did anyone ever have a problem like this or maybe someone could give me advice on whats best to do to grow with these parameter :s

You need to read up on RO

2.2 ec is extremely high. With > 60 psi water pressure you can expect ~ 90% rejection, which is still too high. You will need to add a booster pump in order to lower the effluent ec.

2.0 ec reading there is something wrong with your RO system or your EC metre. should read 0 or very close to that

the EC meter and the RO system are both brand new I live on a small island and our tap water is not drinkable at all so probably thats the case but still confused on what I shsould do.

If I where to buy a pump that pressurised my RO system would it give me a lower EC like i said in soil I never had any problems but 2.2 for hydro is pretty high to start off with

just tested some water out of a bottle of water it had an ec of 0.1 so the EC meter is fine

also

Just tested plain tap water ec is 2.9 so the RO system is working but seems to be struggeling only reducing dissolved solids by 0.7 .

any ideas on what i need to do to resolve this ...

any help would be appriciated
