I've used their bloom in a hydro setup...DWC...I absolutely loved the stuff, leaves stayed green to the end, no sign of burning or deficiencies.

It's probably hands-down the best fertilizer available to us. It's affordable, highly concentrated, 100% complete and 'pH perfect' in hydro. I could write a book about it but my journals pretty much cover it all. If you do chose DG, get a TDS meter and learn how to feed your plants. DG is highly concentrated and will scorch the sh*t out of a newbie's garden if used incorrectly.

They offer a silica product called Protekt that I'd recommend but it's not 'needed'. They also offer another product called magpro if you're using RO water. The only bottles you 'need' are grow and bloom and they'll last you a looooong time.

I'm really thinking about going with DG. I have been using FF for the last 2 years with nothing but deficiencies here and there. Wondering if DG will work well for my soil grow in FF OF/LF mix.

I've got nothing but praise for ProTekt as well.

To the OP, you asked me what I use to feed my girls. I haven't tried a lot of other nutes, but after trying a few other things, for my current grow I've gone back to Dyna-Gro (grow and bloom, I'll pick up some "foliage pro" when I run out of "grow" as I hear good things about it).

I don't use many additives, here's a short list of what else is going into my soil with my current grow:

ProText (silica/potassium additive, essential in my high summer temperature climate)
Compost Tea & 1/4 dose of Great White Mycorrhizae (beneficial micro-organisms, added with food)
Plenty of pH up/down (for a good pH buffer)
Diatomaceous Earth (mixed into soil, helps against bugs, and also adds a bit of cal/mag/silica)
Neem Oil (Also Dyna-Gro brand, occasional, very light doses, added to soil, helps against bugs)

what kind of soil is good and what should someone put in the soil to enhance it besides the normal nutes

Dyna-Gro was designed for hydro.

I've used it for years, mainly on my orchids.

For soil, I prefer Jack's Classic, since it was designed for soil, but keep Dyna=Gro on hand and use the Pro-Tekt and K-L-N regularary (?) ... all the time. LOL

HB does hydro and can set you straight.
