Dyna Gro FP feeding schedule for soil?

I'm using FFOF in 5 gallon smart pots with Dyna Gro FP, but a lot of the info I'm finding here is for hydro setups. Does anyone have a successful soil feeding schedule for Dyna Gro FP? Do you alternate plain water feedings with nutrient feedings or can you run DG feedings every couple of days? What kind of PPM are you running? I'm currently running 1/2 tsp FP per gallon with some Protekt to PH buffer, but I'm seeing some issues with brown spotting on lower leaves on several of the plants so I'd like to know who else has had some success with Dyna Gro FP besides the usual recommendations of the Homebrewer comparison grows.

Here is what I'm working with currently. They sprouted November 9th. The left has me a bit concerned about the conflicting issues people on here have with calmag and DG, but then again I've had the same brown spotting issues no matter what nutrients I use in FFOF seems like. I'm doing nutrients every feeding at 1/2 tsp per gallon.

I started in FFOF, but if I was gonna use chemicals I'd use coco. Just doesn't make sense to me to buy an organic soil and flood it with chemicals. Plus you want runoff so you're gonna flush some nutrients out every time. And not all nutrients will flush the same. Some are easy to flush out and some are hard or nearly impossible.

I found the Flora trio would get a salt crust build up, sometimes even with plain water feedings in-between. I plan to switch to DWC after this grow, but I'd like to have one last decent soil grow before I make the switch. Hoping to learn the ropes with Dyna Gro before I make the switch though. Looking back, I probably should have ran HF instead of FFOF, but should I be running some plain water feedings in between nutrients to help the hot nature of FFOF? I'm trying to avoid overwatering so I'm only doing 1/4 gallon for all the plants currently and slowing upscaling until they dry out every 3 days. I was using PH down but now I'm trying to buffer PH purely with Pro Tekt to avoid adding more issues with the extra phos acid. I'm not doing watering to RO yet as I don't think the roots are advanced enough to reach the whole pot and I don't want to drown them.

The FFOF should have enough nutes on it's own to the stage you're at. Nothing wrong with adding some salt ferts to organic soil. One thing about Protekt (or any Potassium Silicate product) is that is can quickly jack up your ph if you add too much. Are you checking your ph? Personally in soil such as FFOF, I would go with half-strength feed once or twice a week until I start to see deficiencies, then increase the strength around 75% of what the bottle suggests. For those who don't understand why you would want to use salt nutes along with organics in your medium are stuck in a dogmatic way of thinking about growing, or are simply purists. I respect purists, but dogmatists, not so much.

I was originally using Protekt as a regular nutrient, but as you said it raised the PH so much that I wound up switching to use it in small amounts purely as a PH buffer and a replacement for using PH up period. I run a PH of around 6.3-6.5. The nutrient feed is 1/2 tsp FP which is around 490 PPM minus the 190 from the tap water.

Personally I don't want to buy soil all the time, so My FFOF was turned into no-till a few years ago. But to each his own. Welcome to RIU and good luck.

Will there be any signs of overfeeding besides the obvious salt crust and hardening of the soil? I've always done plain water feedings between nutrients but every feeding would be much simpler which is a big part of switching to the one part formula. Feeding charts from DG can be a bit confusing as they assume you will be using their magpro and KLN which I'm not. I think I may go by weekly PPM. What do you think about the spotting on the furthest left plant? The furthest left and top right plant both had some odd mutations from the get go. Leaves with odd or partially mangled fingers, leaves forming oddly, etc. What's odd is I've always had this brown spotting issue with FFOF around this time, but it eventually evens out.
