Welcome to wonderful world of Rollitup :weed: :peace:

it looks like it had a dry spell but the current growth looks nice. It looks like it will be a bushy one.

You are a brave man to do a LED system, what made you go with it?

wondering how to get this little girl on track. this is my first grow. LED. CFL. DWC.

week 2 day 4. temps day 77' and night 65'. pH 5.5 feeding 550 ppm. FloraDuo A&B. CalMagic. Pot Silicate. pH down.

thanx for any pointers.
you've got a couple problems you should be aware of.
your Ph is really on the low end. Your feeding schedule say 5.5-6.5 Ph
whats your ph rebound situation?
your tempatures. your feeding schedule says nothing over 75-F reservoir tempature.
what is your reservoir tempature?
your feeding half strength? If so contine feeding just half strength.
your not to bad out of the recommended parameters, but you should try to get your Ph and reservoir tempature under control a little better.

wanted to try LED cuz of the lower heat output and cuz its the brave new world of growing. and I won a decent poker tourny and had the extra funds ;)

hows the heat in there?
heat hasn't been bad at all. the lights sure arent heat-free though. been as high as 83ish. I raised and lowered the lights until I found the happy spot. but usually im sitting at 75-78' with 1 LED (250W) and 1 CFL (200W) running.

I read that when using hydroponic that 5.5 was the pH to aim for in early veg. Im not using the rez yet. just hand watering until the roots are long enough to require the pump to feed it all the time. right now she is in a 4' rockwool cube sitting in the hydroton. havent measured the run off, but I will today.

how often should I be feeding her then, if she is getting too dry? I figured the rockwool cube held enough water for a full day at this point. I flushed her with 5.5 pH tap water (we have amazingly good tap water here) last night before I went to bed just in case it was a food issue Im having. she certainly is growing still, but Im worried that whatever is ailing her will get worse.

brave new world of growing
Load of crap, you fell for it hook, line and sinker. Doesn't matter they are still good for veg/seedlings. Get a cooltubed HPS for flowering with the rest of your winnings.
The problem looks like too hot and lights too close , raise the lights.

Im not going to use HPS. thanx for the advice on how to spend my winnings. have you used LED with little success? which did you use? what didn't you like? if you havent used them ever, then...........?

Ill try lifting the lights some more though.

leds produce quality flowers, but they dont grow big plants, just because their price:watt ratio is high.
thats what I have read. 10% less than HID but denser and stickier plants with LED. this is all for personal, so Im not concerned with huge crops or maxing my grams per watt just yet. this is all just a first timers learning experience.

Here's your nutrient schedule. Try and do what they tell you to do.
Ive got the schedule(s). thank you though. Im just curious how often to feed/water at this early stage so that I don't over water. once per day? twice per week? feed once, water once? this is what Im really curious about with that question.

With rockwool and hydroton its nice to have your water running already, the pump isnt that bad on electricity and your plant will love the flowing water. The only thing that was ailing her was lack of water at a certain point.

Back off that PPM. Plants that age should be 200-300 PPM. EC of .35 - .40.
Im going to have to disagree with Harley. Dont back off on the nutes, your plant does not show any sign of over nuting. His .35-.40 EC is a guidline for reverse osmosis water, from what your saying it sounds like your going straight from tap.

I think Ive got it figured out. thanx for the help. low pH with high ppm seems to have been the issue. she is looking better by the hour. purple in the stalk and branches is going away steadily.

thanx again for the help.
