early sexing outdoors

site is guerrilla grow so i cant get toit every day on the hour to do the traditional bag method( put dark bag over a branch for 12 on 12off ).

my question is could i put a bag on 4 like 3 days. would that show sex or just kill the branch. or is there anyway else to do it

Take two (only one is required, but take two for protection) cuttings home with you and clone for sex. Put the cuttings under 12/12. You only have to keep the cuttings alive until they show sex.

Guy, I got you. Take a toilet paper roll, after all the paper is gone, and put it over a small bottom branch and tape up both ends with black duct tape. Poke a small light hole in the top end of the taped tube, and in about a week the branch will show sex. Done it and it works great.

ill try both why not.....but hey i just thought of this....imstarting them inside on a 20/4 sched i should just grow them to about 5 inches then start a 12/12 until sex is determined. then revert them to 18/6 for a few days then put em in the great outdoors.... you dont think thatll hurt em do ya

The interrupted light cycles might shock the plants. Use cuttings because you discard them once sex is determined. No risk of shock. Ccodiane has an interesting suggestion. I think I'll try it, too.
