early sexing

i've done lots of reading on sexing but i still don't really understand the best method.

my plants are about 1 foot tall and i want to figure out their sex without putting the entire plant into flowering stage (because i want it bigger before i harvest)

i only have one growing light and i don't want to prune the plants too much

please help.

dude if you prune the you will form more than one cola. i trim all the time and my plant is 14" tall but i have 9 nodes and 5 colas. as well, my stalk is about a 1/2" thick. trim my friend, but only those outer big fan leaves, it allows light to get to the lower nodes. also, if it looks like there is little thc lookinghairs at the nodes most likely its female. but if it looks like, balls, then its a male. its pretty easy to tell. one look at a male and they just look ugly.

but i thought u can only tell if its into flowering?

should i cut off a big leaf at the node, stick it in a small pot and flower it to find out the sex?

well, thats one way. i had a little extra time on my hand and just let her flower for a week then put her back outside. she's is 18" tall now. just beautiful and great growth i see improvement everyday.
