Earth Juice

i just purchased earth juice grow(2-1-1), catalyst, and bloom(0-3-1). they are all Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) approved:bigjoint:. in a medium consisting of 3 parts soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part worm castings, what would be a good nutrient regime to follow? oh i also purchased some alaskan fish fertilizer(5-1-1)what watering schedule would be nutes, water, nutes, water water. water every 5 days or so because the soil i'm assuming will be light and easy draining, with rocks and sand at the bottom of the pot for even better drainage. oh and also would 3 gallon pots be fine for mature plants about 3 to 4 ft tall? or is that more the 5 gallon department? thanks to all that reply, it would be nice for quick responses b/c i want to set up as quick as possible, but need some feedback

You dont have to worry about frying them with organic nutes. blast away. I recomend the whole earth juice line. Meta k, microblast. And if you get ahold of the E.J. feeding instructions you will also need, Fulvic or humic acid, sea kelp(dried), Soluable Seabird guano, Microbe tea, and Hi-Brix molasses. Results are wonderful. been running this stuff for years.

I couldnt get through the first 2 weeks of flower without my plants becoming difficient and turning completely yellow. Switched fertilizer and it stopped doing that. Good luck.

hey thanks guys. yeah i don't really want to feed nutes as much as possible. tom that sounds like a good watering schedule to follow, thanks. its just when they do need the nutes i at least want them to be organic. i was hoping of just throwing together a nice mixture like i said above with good soil, perlite, vermiculite, worm castings, and a few more things but i'm not sure, ibuildthings you mention all of those things, what do they exactly do for the soil. and do you have any other suggestions?. i've heard things like lime powder to control ph. anhedonia what went wrong? were you using the whole lineup or just a few products? i was hoping to supplement the soil with EJ but have alot of nice organics in the soil. any ideas? thanks to all yet again

Hey dude, my hydro store guy even told me not to use EJ. I got it anyway, except catalyst, and I couldnt grow shit with it. My veg plants grew nicely but my flowering plants would always get severe N defficiency.

this is exactly the problem i am having , so after this post i know i am switching nutes... mine is more of a "lockout" then a N def.
i do know when i mixed up my EJ nutes for flower (grow, bloom, cat, and meta-k) the ph was 4.8 so i am guessing that is the problem?
i am still at a toss up on EJ nutes ??
(the lime is good to add to soils that need it, soils with alot of peat moss)

Do you adjust the pH before watering?

yes but i have already purchased the earth juice. i'm sure it'll work. but would you REALLY recommend the pura vida over the earth juice? what are the differences you've noticed using the pv over the ej? you've used both and seem to have some knowledge on the 2.

i just finally got a tester and using all 5 EJ nutes it is reading 4.6 on ph . So i added probably 4 TB of ph up to get it to 6.5. Is that too much up ? thats more up then it is food? Should i be switching to a organic up instead of the general hydroponics up ... or will i be fine using the GH up ?

my babies are locked up bigtime! Tom do you think this will unlock um?

i use the alaska fish for veg and bloom and use ej micro blast.1T veg,1T bloom, and 2t microblast per gallon of water.the schedule i use is nutes, nutes, nutes, water, nutes, nutes, nutes, water, ext.i have no problems at all.i flush with just water for the last too weeks and i use only the bloom and microblast after 2 weeks into bud.i would suggest experimenting and find what works best with your strains as well as your set up,good luck:peace:

hey john thanks man for real it helps. i heard theres not a lot of burning with these nutes but DAMN! 3 hits of nutes then 1 water all throughout grow? does it affect the taste, well i suppose not they're organic. i'm not saying i'll follow that completely but it gives me a better idea. hmm, so no problems at all with that setup? no bad burn or taste to bud? hows the smoke?
