currently watering by hand. was using a drill water pump that was working really nice as it had a hose on it and could control where the water goes and the pressure. is there a way to make a similar mechanism to water my plants.

You could have a barrel of nutes/water, put a grommet in the bottom side for a 3/4" barbed fitting. Insert a straight barbed fitting through the grommet. Using 3/4" hose connect a submersible pond pump and have it in the bottom of the barrel. Connect a garden hose to the outside of the barbed fitting and connect a watering wand to the end of the hose. Plug in the pump and water. Unplug the pump when done.

Hose clamps would probably be a good ideal. Maybe a shutoff valve on the barrel before the garden hose. You can make it as fancy or as basic as you want. You can even just run the hose over the top of the barrel and skip all the fittings, just dunk the pump in there and go to town. They make little digital gallon meters that can be put on the end of the hose with the wand and then you can measure how much water each plant is getting.
