when is the best time to cut the lower 1/3 branches on SOG?

I prune branching at the end of wks 1 & 3 of flowering.

Nah, the bucket thing is far too complex, too much plumbing, too much to leak, difficult to clean. The very simplest system, ye olde tray & tank, is the way forward for new growers.
