What is the lowest possible PPM that will carry(healthy) a fully grown well vegged(1-2 months) plant through flower?

if your ppm's are at 300 and the plant can take 800 or so at that time it will slow your veg growth down, just like using a cfl's vs a mh growth will be slower with less lumens

I get by with 500ppm with no problems.
Do they show significant if any deficiency? How long do you veg and what gram per plant do you end up with?

Depends as different strains require more nutes than others
True, but the few strains I have run have not gobbled up enough nutes to make me say there is a huge difference. If anything some strains just drink a whole lot more water. Once topped off with fresh water the ppm ususally gets within 100 ppm of the original batch.

I hear you, but my four foot four cfl fixture has quite a bit of output and handles veg like a champ all the while using less energy... And my four foot eight bulb CFL gets buds like my 600 watt hps while using less energy and more coverage... I once read somewhere that the challenge is to give your plants just enough of what they need not more in excess amounts...

The most important factor is light. The lower the light, the higher the nutes a plant can take because it does not process so quickly. For example, I use 300 in Aero in the sun and it is at the limit and I get about 2 inches of growth a day per branch.

In the end different plants process nutes at different rates but the power of the light you are using is the main factor.
