EMERGENCY - Please help me to figure out what's wrong with my plants before they die!

Hi,

I have eight mothers that want to grow big in order to give birth to couple of hundred of clones. They are 29 days from seed and been sitting in DWC. They have 8x 23W CFL for the light.

There have been some instabilities with PPM and Ph for the first two weeks - high PPM 420 and Ph 8.0 from tap water. For the past two weeks, after I got the readers, PPM is fixed at 75 and Ph between 5.2 and 6.2.
Also, during first halftime I developed algae due to light leakage. That has been eliminated and treated with hydrogen peroxide three times. One time higher dose (17.5% 6ml/litre [23ml/gallon]) for a few hours, later added half of the amount and then three days later I added the same amount as on the second time. Within 40 hours the plants get a positive health boost.

I've added just once some Canna AquaVega A and B to get to PPM 75; also I have some PowerZyme
but havent used it yet due to Peroxide being in the reservoir. Water temps in the res are between 21 and 22 C (61.8 and 71.6 F), air temps are sitting between 26 and 28 C (78.8 and 82.4 F).

I feel that the growth rate has been very stagnant, both on top and under...

Why are the plants pale and unhappy right now?

Do they look like they could survive?

Thank you for your advice. I will do it. One question though: How about peroxide and powerzyme? Which one should I add?

So do you think the sad looks could be mostly a consequence of a nutrient deficiency? .. and they will get better after having increased PPM? Lets see in next few days how are they going to respond to this change. The PH ratio is fortunately very close to the optimal - 5.4 at the moment. I will keep you updated with pictures! I hope it's going to work out. Honestly, thank you for the help!

clean pumps out clean res out cover lines everfucken thing that touches your water with vinigor, okay next ad you a and b mix if it is 2 part, slow on the nutrients very slow about 200 add a lil root hormones and cal mag and silica thats it no more make shure to delute it and ph 5.8 no peroxide not yet cana zyme or sensi zime you could if you want.. unless you going sterile ZONE and cut out the root hormone..make shure the water is at least 70 degrees if not start thowing bottled water in freezer and when frozen put in your system

5.4 is not optimal, below 5.6 and they are missing crucial elements needed for vegative growth. And yes, on the ppm. The stored food leaves a are used up.

The lights look a little far away also. When I start new seedlings I keep my cfl's about 2" away, that's the sweet spot that I've found atleast. Not enough light will deff slow their growth rate down.

Thank you everyone! Now, 48 hours later, they look definitely better. I did put new water, cleaned res. Took ppm up to 240 with a&b, cal and mag - 5ml (0.17oz) of everything but mag 15mg (0.51oz). Stabilized ph at 5.75. I have a 50ml (1.7oz) bottle of Clonex Rooting Hormone in my hand - it doesn't say how much to use it? Few drops or all of it? My res is 25 litres (6.6 gallons). I couldn't find any silica though. Also did cut those dead leaves. Started to cool down the res water with frozen bottles...

Alright, will take not of it. All but three plants are having hard time developing roots and hence are kind of left behind. Still no need for a little boost of some sort?

Your plants are over watered, and from the looks of it they have been for a week or more.

Fill water to 1/4" inch below the netpot, make sure they also have a decent breeze on them but not a hurricane. Make sure your res has enough bubbles, the more chaotic your bubbles are the better, remember its not the bubbles that oxygenate the water its them disturbing and breaking the surface.

That should fix your problem.

BTW you don't have root rot.

I'm too wondering how would you overwater in DWC?

However, you are correct about the water level I have - rather high. It's about till 0.5cm (1/4in) above the netpot's bottom. And I don't have the breeze on them yet, will fix it asap. I have a pump that's meant for 150litre (33gallon) aquariums; in my res theres 25 litres (5.6 gallons) of water. To that pump I have attached a 15cm (6in) airstone. That should be enough, right?

I'll answer myself.
I used 4ml of Clonex per my res, theres 25 litres (5.6 gallons). And lowered water level too.
All in all, they seem pretty happy to me. I'll post pics tomorrow.
