I was on a trip for work and my room mate was taking care of the plants when I returned they had started to turn brown at the bottoms and leaves were dying off.......Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I lose them all.....

check your ph. Looks like they are locking up. I hate when you come home and shit like that happens. Once my roommate burned all my plants by giving them 10x the amount of nutrients I told him. Now I have a auto watering system. My room stays locked when im gone.

well what have they been getting, nutrient wise. I still haven't diagnosed the problem. What about some of the really effected leaves, take pics of those.

your plants are locked up, they cant absorb what you are feeding likly because your ph is way off balance. Its not your roommates fault. That takes time. Do you have before pics, before you left. Im almost positive I could point it out there too. When the leaves are curled and not perky thats a huge problem.

and is that mylar on the floor? you wanna get rid of that the light sometimes tends to bounce up and can burn the underside of the leaves!!

I was thinking I would put them in bigger pots with fresh soil and see if that helps
thats the only thing you can do. Chech you ph first so I can confirm the nute lock out. But ya that is for sure. I still wouldn't get your hopes up. Thats a huge problem to tackle.

OK so I tested it but I am beginning to wonder if the tester I bought is worth anything......I have a rapitest PH meter but it almost always says soil is at 7....

best get yourself a new tester then, have you had to adjust the water ph much then to get to that 7 reading, that will give you some idea of if its bust?
