So i got the power strip wet that i was plugged into. The power in my room shut off and along with it my lights. I checked the breaker, none had been tripped and reset every single switch. The four outlets that are out are still not working i don't have enough extension cord to get to other outlets. What should i do?

I was running a 24 hour light cylce and advice to how i should time it when i get this fixed

Please your help will be appreciated.kiss-ass

Outlets themselves may need to be replaced. Turn off the breaker and start changing them out. They are only a dollar or two a piece.

There is an outlet somewhere in your house/apartment that has two buttons on them usually black and red, one reading test and the other reading reset. Find this outlet, usually in the kitchen or the bathroom and reset it.

I have reset the outlet with the test and reset on it. Unfortunately it didn't help. Right now I am just hoping it comes on soon. Do you think i need to replace all four outlets that are out?

Did you press test first? Try that. Then check the breakers again. It wouldn't make sense that you frying one outlet would make the other three stop working unless they were all on the same circuit. Check the room and make sure that there isnt a master outlet as I described before somewhere in the room itself. And again check the breakers, flip them ALL off and then back on to make sure. Apply logic here, what good would it be to change all four outlets if the wiring to them was no good?

The chances of the wiring going bad are next to none. I don't believe all four outlets are out, but it is easy and cheap to change them out. Really there is probably one in the circuit out and none are working.

Okay... I replaced all 4 outlets... tripped and reset all the gfi's that i could find in my house... and flipped all the breakers of and then on. I still do not have power to those 4 outlets. The few lights on the ceiling work when switched on. Only the outlets don't work. If someone has a friend or relative that is an electrician it would be awesome if you could help me figure this out. I just dont want to have to call out an electrician because of the situation.

Yeah everything is unplugged. I have an extension cord running there now. I hope nothing happened as far as hermies go and stuff. Still trying to figure out what the problem is. I still am wondering if there is a hidden gfi plug somewhere that i haven't found that i have to reset.

Get one of those circuit tracers. You plug one into the outlet, then the other you 'scan' the breaker panel to find out which breaker it is maybe the breaker is bad and not tripped. Think they are like $30 (good thing to have anyways)
Pull the cover off the breaker panel and check the hot lead for power out of the breaker.

(also dumb Q, the power strips might have a breaker or fuse on them)

I wouldnt stress too much at all about hermies. If I were you I would check again for a hidden gfi outlet like you were saying. If no luck with that I would do a little research on google pertaining to "outlets stopped working". I just did this and found a LOT of info right away. Good luck either way.
