Emergency/Short-term setup for germinated seeds!?

While waiting on all my equipment to get here I germinated some bag seeds just for fun. A bunch of them sprouted and now I don't know what to do with them! I can build a temp setup but don't know what I can do for a medium. No hydro shops that close so are there any readily available alternatives for rockwool and hydro rocks? Any help appreciated because I would hate to just kill these germinated seeds!

What about putting em in soil until you had a system. Then wash the roots and transplant from the soil when you're ready.

Ok I guess I could do that however what type of soil can I use that I can find at Lowe's or Depot? I know not to use Miracle-Grow potting soil but do they carry bags of standard soils? I have heard to use FoxFarms but I need to be able to find it locally.

Thats a bad idea, u dont wanna screw around with the roots dude...the only thing that comes to mind is 4 u to run down to a pet shop get an air pump or 2 (they´re really cheap), get some hydroton (most garden centers, if not all have them) also get some cfl´s and start a bubbler while u wait for the rest of the gear..u wont be disaponted with this simple yet very effective setup

I would except I don't have any rockwool... what else can I use? See my grow journal - I went ahead and bought top soil + perilite. They all sprouted tonight in the soil but all I read about was hydro! I don't know jack about soil grows. Here are a few pics...

Ok u did get perlite u could have used the perlite in a tray (without soil) to keep the seedlings...but since u started with soil there is less to it then hydro...keep the soil moist, allways check water pH before watering (pH should be between 6.3 and 6.8 )read the soil label for N-P-K values so u can figure out when to start feeding, get some large pots and in a week or 2 u can repot...if i were u i would go with soil and wait until the plants are in 4-6 weeks old, cut some clones and use the hydro for the vegged clones..best of 2 worlds u keep a mother in soil and blast the clones in hydro...

oh another thing those bulbs are 2 far away.......get them close (2" max) away from the plants...
I was afraid of burning out the plants.... 2inches??? Also, do they sell ferts that are acceptable for plant growth at garden centers/HomeDepot/Lowes? Also, my ebay seller finally got back to me and the shipping shows the setup will be here on the 9th... so not too bad. Last night my Cal Skunk and free seeds showed up so I might start them in hydro and compare... we shall see...

Yes m8 2" to be safe cause my plants are touching the bulbs with no prob...about the nutes i dunno dude i´m in Europe...thats a good idea i have been doing that since i started with hydro and the only thing i notice is the dif in growth (speed, size and yield hydro wins but not by much) and in taste (a minor dif wich soil takes the lead)...happy grow man
