enclosed luminaire

i know that it is something to do with my e40 connection, reason i need to know is that i found 5200k mh bulb (250w) and says that it is to be held in an enclosed luminaire only..... so what is it????:peace:

A fully enclosed, shatterproof glass/aluminum light fixture.

HID bulbs can explode, it's rare, but it happens. If they do... really hot glass particles can be thrown into the room without a fully-enclosed fixture.

Good chance they could kill your plants, or severely harm you. Like beyond boiling temperature glass shards to the face.
