End-of-flower bulk

I'm at 9 1/2 weeks of flowering. The hairs on the main cola are still primarily white, but progressing nicely toward a nice amber. The lower mini-colas are 80% amber. There has been a noticeable increase in bud weight and size in the past week or so, but there also has been some new growth, which worries me a bit. At 9 weeks I'm ready to start flushing and wrap this grow up, but I'm thinking I may have to wait a lot longer due to the new growth. What do you think?

Depends where the new growth is. The buds on the top will mature faster than those on the bottom so some people will harvest the top and let the bottom finish doing its thing and then harvest that too.

I've had plants that matured from the bottom up too.

Is there any reason why you can't harvest the buds that are done and leave the rest to finish. You can still do the flush, just harvest the slowest maturing buds last.

I'd love to, but even the most mature-looking buds have been packing on some new growth. Taking a tip from fdd, I was planning on harvesting when there are no immature white hairs. On a side note, I've always heard to not prune leaves during flowering because it will delay the grow. Wouldn't pruning buds have the same effect?

Certainly depends on strain, but....

I notice the same sort of 2nd boost of growth at 9 weeks, and I find it's well worth the wait to let the new growth ripen to 12-13 weeks.

.......from what I see in the pics they're definately still bulking nicely. Are you talking about the colors of the hairs?? and not trics?<----'cause what are they telling you??

Hope it's SWEET for you!!

Thanks for the input. I'm going to give it another two or three weeks to do it's thing. We'll see how it turns out. It's getting very hard to be patient :)

At this point I'm going off of hair color. I have a microscope, how do you guys collect samples of triches? Just take a clipping of bud leaf?

Strain is unknown (bagseed), two girls under a 150 watt HPS, with three 42 watt CFLs for side lighting.

......just zoom in on it like in "Pullin' weeds's" avatar.... you should be able to with your lense without touching the plant at all..... and I 'd say that one is just leaving 'clear' to start clouding<----guess

Have fun!!
