Enough light?

Basically what the title says. I'm using 3x 2600 Lumen CFL's.

I just have one plant, and I'm just growing it for fun. So nothing really extremely expensive. Do you think this is enough lighting?

And how do you suggest I hang my lights? Is this way efficient?

Please and thanks for the help. :weed:

Cfls don't penetrate very well you might wanna try and get them a little closer. And I wouldrl throw more cfls in there if you can as the plant gets a bit bigger. What spectrum are the bulbs? They look a little too yellow to me.

Well I was planning on buying 6000K+ for the vegging phase but these are 2700k. Couldn't find any daylight CFL bulbs that gave me more than 1600 lumens per. So I just bought these. I'm not sure whats the best set up for CFL's is either.

Small CFLs are fine. I'm using 23 and 26W. The light falls off quickly, so lots of small CFLs are generally better than a few big ones - just surround the plant. Most of the light will come from the sides of the bulb.

Take a look at the CFL section and the Stealth/Micro/Cab section for more information, pics, and so on. Grow rooms generally use more efficient lighting.

I was looking at the cost of HPS and they don't really cost that much.

I bought these 3 bulbs for 10$ a piece. And plan on buying some 6400k. Should I just switch to a HPS setup? Would the extra money be worth the outcome of my plant(possibly growing 2 more plants)?

You might want MH for veg, though, and a ballast that would handle both MH and HPS. And you will have to deal with more heat. But you will get better light than you can with the CFLs.

ive done a 2 plant grow ~ Seed to Bud ~ using only 5 150Watt ~ They only use about ~ 50-60 watts ) The Hight Eff Bulbs )
VERY PLEASED W/ grow ~ for only buying 30$ in Bulbs $20 in dirt
I harvested 2 oz a Plant of this Dirt cheap Set up~ !!!!! one of my very 1st grows!!
im a bit further then this now ~ 6500Watt set up now
But Was Very PLeased w/ my cheap 150w High Ef. 50 watt bulbs
basicly Used one Bulb per Main Nug ~ Will give Nice Results W/o Spending Big $$ on Eqip. & pow
Total Grown Costed me around 60$ for lights, bulbs. 1 bag dirt, & power
60$ turned to 4oz of b+ BUD

^^ I would say it is worth it to get hps if you are planning to do more then one grow. But on the other hand It dosnt matter too much. Even if you are planing on doing more grows you will probably use the cfls for another purpose down the road, be it for your house or vegging.

the problem with hps isn't the price of the actual unit but the ventilation that's required to keep the temps on the up and up.. I got fooled by that same thing at first.. get an HID system and expect to spend about as much as the light itself to get the ventilation right. not to mention its gonna hit the power bill some although a 250w would probably just be an extra $20 a month about. also there will more noise. either way its worth it to me, ive had a pretty successful grow so far and im sure ive skipped a bunch of steps and been pretty dumb about everything lmao
