Envirolite 250W PC Grow - 12/12 from Seed

So finally been able to get my second grow room set up. This time in a PC Case. I have used computer fans for intake and outtake, mylar inside the whole case and a red spectrum 250w envirolite for my lumens.

They say that the produce 12,000 lumens so I would have thought this should produce some pretty nice buds.

With only 8" of grow space it looks like this plant is going to have to be majorly lstd.

Would anyone recommend a ScrOG or SOG in this type of grow?

Anyone had experience with a 250watt Envirolite in such small conditions. I think i may get some heat problems thats all.

I'm only going to be growing one feminised seed. probably blueberry on 12/12 so trying to give it the best chance of keeping short.

I WANT SOME BIG BUDS THOUGH!! Any advice?

Growing medium is soil and perlite.

Thanks

Do you have any pics of your setup? I am kinda curious on how someone can really get enough bud off of one plant grown in a pc case. It just does not seem like there would be enough room. But please keep us posted on how things go. I would say that heat will be your only issue.

Also you might want to use a screen over it and train it to fill the screen. That would probably be your best bet to get the most off of one plant in a small space. Good luck.

They will probably get taller than 4 inches by the time they start budding. But i could be wrong. I have heard that the true autoflowering strains like lowrider will grow into their 3rd week before showing sex. But from the looks of your setup, I would say that with that big of a bulb. Your main thing is going to be dealing with heat. But i wish you luck with it. I would love to see that little setup prove people wrong.
Good luck

I am a noob.
but.
With the 250 watter, the tubes are mostly on the front side.
And ofcoarse the diameter is killing your height.
I think you would be happier wiith 2 42w (1 front , 1 back) or 4 26 or 42w in each corner.
This would give you more headspace for your girls, and better proportion of light than the 250w will.
And slightly less energy used.
And less $ to switch spectrums if wanted.

Watch temps, if too high keep adding PC fans.
But remember, to flower, they need total darkness.
You will also have to make sure 0% light is coming through the fans and case cracks during lights out.

Sell the 250w to a buddy (or me if it is a 25000k or 2100k).
Buy multiple smaller CFL's.
Gain some headspace.

I was also thinking that the bulb is too big for the area to grow in. Maybe if you had 4 times the grow area that bulb would be perfect. I would do like snaggy says. Maybe 4 of the 22w to 42w cfls would be better.

I have a PC grow going on right now with Skunt #1 x Master Kush.... I have a bunch of seeds so I figured why not try? I have an average emptied computer case, 2 42w CFL's, and 2 23w CFL's... I gave it LST, tied it down lightly very early, then gave it a small amount of nutrients to help it grow into the ties. Its about 8 inches now and almost 3 weeks. I'm going to flower soon :) I might make a journal with the pics i got.

I can see your point of view for the heat issues on the light. But i want to try a 250watt cfl with 12,000 lumens in such a small space. The worst thing is I am going to have to add more computer fans to cope with heat.

If I can LST well enough and possibly scrog then this should fit in. I am not going to use standard pots i'm going to use a 3 litre bottle to distribute root space horizontally and seriously tie this plant down!!

I want to see this work any doubters? Or advice from experience?

Good luck, and keep us posted on how the grow goes. I would still like to see some pics of the setup when you have it up and running.

This looks very interesting. I'm going to have to agree with the 4 CFL idea, but with some determination and a little work, I believe you could pull this off. Keep us posted!

Good Luck! :joint:

Right so i've changed the light to a 125watt in an attempt to lower the temperatures in there. But the temps are at 88 degrees f!!!

This is going to be too high right?

What shall I do just add more fans? or another exhaust.

Stealthhawk, hate to say I told you so. Imagine what it would of been with the 250w! 88f aint bad, little high (as I am hehe) but is that a red 125 or blue because with blue you should have no probs. ;)

Thats with the blue spectrum bulb in haven't checked the temps on the red one yet.

All i'm going to do is replace the intake and exhaust with 120mm fans. That should bring down the temps and help with some better air circulation.

Seeds can go into germ today. :) Let the grow begin.
